Beep. Beep. Beep. I tossed and turned in my warm bed trying to escape the annoying sound of the alarm clock. To no prevail. I ended up getting too annoyed. Turning over I grabbed my phone and turned the damn alarm off. I tossed my phone aside and looked around the empty apartment. Sometimes it was hard living on my own at seventeen. It got to quiet. To lonely at times, but it's what I asked for and for my sixteenth birthday it's what my aunt gave me.
I walked over to my closet and grabbed a high-low black and white dress. I walked into the bathroom, threw on the dress, threw my ice blonde hair into a ponytail, did some quick eyeliner and untwisted the necklace my mother had left me in her will. I finished in about five minutes.
I made my way back to my bed. Picking up my phone I notice a message from my friend Nicole.Omg you'll never guess who's here!
I looked at the message once more totally confused. It's the middle if the school year and seven in the morning. Who would be here?
Who is it? I texted her back.
You'll have to wait and see. I sigh. Put on my shoes, grab my bag and head out the door.
It's about a ten minute drive to my house to the school. So I got there in no time. Once I found parking, which is always a hassle, I walked right to our table. This table had been our meeting spot since the first day of freshman year and like every morning Nicole sat there on her phone waiting. Her dark brown hair was in a messy but still somewhat neat sock bun. She wore some simple black leggings with an over sized cream sweater that had a silver skull on it.
"Uh. I thought you said that somewhere was here and I needed to see, but from the looks of it there's no one here. Explain?" I said, getting ready to leave her.
"Trust me he's here. He just went to the office to get something." She replied, motioning me to stay.
"He?"
"Yes it's a he."
" Well who is this he?"
"I can't tell. You'll have to see for yourself."
I sighed heavily and sat down next to her.
I don't know how much time had past before Nicole shouted. "Speak of the devil."
I whipped my head around to finally see the He Nicole was making such a fuss about. Joy filled my body the moment our eyes made contact. He stood a few feet behind us. He had dark drown hair, with the most beautiful amber eyes and I'm not exaggerating. His eyes looked like they were made out of the gem themselves. He wore black jeans, a white V-Neck. Around his neck hung a red gem.
Jumping up from my seat I sprinted to him. He set down the sack of papers he had on the table next to him and welcomed my embrace.
"Cameron. What are yo doing here?" I asked as we hugged.
"I'm a student here now." He replied.
I faced him. "That means you're back?"
Cameron and I meet each other in second grade. For some reason he and I hit it off right away and put friendship blossomed from there. He was there with me through the death of parents and everything that came afterwards. Cameron was my rock. I mean Nicole is too, but no offense to her, it's different with Cameron. That's why I was devastated when he moved to Maryland at the end of eighth grade.
I mean we talked every once in a while. Asking each other how we've been. Through either text or Facebook. But now he's here, in the flesh."Ah hello earth to Lana." Cameron said.
"Oh Sorry. I was just thinking." I replied, my cheeks turning red.
