Eleanore pulled up outside the towering building. She turned the ignition off and pulled the keys from the car and got out. She locked the car and stared up at the huge sign at the roof of the building that read out 'Freddy Fazbears Pizzeria' with the familiar friendly looking bear along the side of the sign. The bears lifeless but comforting smile filled its face.
Even if you didn't live in Atlanta, you would've heard of this restaurant and it's familiar mascots.
She took in a great sigh with her eyes closed and mentally prepared. She started walking, her heels releasing an audible click every time her foot touched the ground. She reached the doors and pulled it hard. A jarring squeak rang through her ears as she opened it and entered, shutting itself behind her.
As she entered, neon colours filled her eyes. The cheering and laughter of children and adults. The smell of grease and pizza lingered in the air, filling her nostrils. Her eyes hovered around everything for a few seconds, scanning the area and how everyone seemed so happy. Not an inch of sadness in sight.
Childish but adorable drawings hung on the walls, clearly drawn by the customers that came to the pizzeria.
She smiled at the sight of all the joy that this restaurant brought to everyone.
She began walking again, the sound of her heels now inaudible due to the red carpet at the entrance, but quickly back again when she started to step on the white and black checkered floor.
Eleanore was guessing where to go, she knew she had to find an office but didn't know where it was. She just knew that it was Mr Aftons office due to the flyer that read 'Please contact William Afton'.
She looked to her right as she reached the end of the large main room, there was a narrow hallway. She assumed this was where it was located. Just as she was about to walk towards it, a deafening scream shot through her head. Her head darted to the direction that it came from and her eyes met a child.
The child was looking up at a stage in absolute awe. Eleanore looked at the stage that the child was immersed in and saw exactly what the little boy was reacting to. There they were, the three huge animalistic looking mascots. They robotically moved around, meaning to replicate some sort of dancing. Freddy, the bear was singing a child friendly tune in a low voice. The yellow chicken dancing along with her cupcake in hand, and the blue bunny rabbit strumming his guitar. Their eyes moved around as they did, like a humans would.
She brushed it off and went to where she was headed. She slowly walked down the hallway, passing some small party rooms where children and adults were. She passed two bathrooms until there were a few rooms left. Her eyes met a sign that read 'Afton'.
She knew this must have been it. She took a small deep breath and took a few steps towards the door. She knocked lightly and waited a few moments.
"Come in." He raised his voice so he could be heard. Eleanore did just that and opened the door slowly. As the door opened, a man was revealed. He wore a long sleeved light purple shirt with a long black tie that almost reached his waist. He sat smartly in his chair with papers in hand.
"Oh!" He tapped the papers on the desk to straighten them out and placed them down neatly. "You're here for the interview, correct?" He had a small smile on his face in an attempt to be friendly.
"Yeah. Am I late?" She spoke while still stood in the doorway.
"No, no. Just on time." The man hastily cleared his desk and put things away into his drawer, clearing space. "Go on, take a seat." He motioned his head towards the seat that faced him on the other side of the desk.Eleanore complied, shutting the door gently behind her and sat down.
He sat with his legs open and his elbows on the table, hands placed together in a triangle shape.
"What's your name?" He titled his head while questioning her.
"Eleanore Stroud." He nodded and just stared.'Why isn't he writing anything down?'
She thought to herself. He stared for a few moments, examining her face.
"Why do you want this job?" He adjusted himself in his seat, sitting up revealing his true height.
"Well, I saw how friendly it is here and how it never fails to put a smile on everyone's faces and I would just love to be apart of that." A lie. She had never been to this place before. She just needed money, and she needed it urgently."What position are you looking for?"
"Anything. I'll take anything there is." She answered without any hesitation. His eyebrows furrowed at her response, curiously.
"We are in need of a waitress.." He thought out loud for a moment. "Have you had any experience with anything of the sort?"
"Yeah, I used to work in a restaurant when I lived with my mum back in England." She spoke with a smile, trying to be as presentable and open as possible.
"England, huh?" Eleanore couldn't tell if he was trying to sound interested or if he actually was. Before either of them could get another word out, they were interrupted by the door opening.
"William, the animatronics-" The other man stopped in his tracks. His eyes lingering on Eleanore's, and then on the other man's, William. "Oh, sorry." He started to leave but William stood up.
"No, no. Its fine. Come in." He gestured with his hands for the other man to come in. He looked down at her. "You might as well meet our new employee." He spoke with a smile. Eleanore smiled right back.
"Im hired?" She eagerly let out her words.William looked down at her as he stood at a towering height.
"Yes. When can you start?"
"Whenever, anytime you need."
"Tomorrow?" Her smile gets even wider than before.
"Oh my god, thank you so much!"She stands up as the two men watch her leave. She reaches the door where the other man is standing, holding it open. He holds out a hand.
"Henry. Pleased to have you join us!" He speaks with a pleasant and welcoming smile.
"Eleanore, thank you!" She accepts his handshake. As she exits the building she has to hold in her excitement. Though, she wondered how it was so easy. He didn't even write anything down. But she wasn't complaining, she had a source of income, even if it wasn't that much.
