Jake quietly stood up from his seat and approached the vice president to help him settle the overflowing trashcan inside the meeting room.
"It's fine," Jungwon insisted, lightly pushing Jake's hands off the black plastic bag.
"Let me," Jake insisted as well.
Jungwon only looked at him for a brief moment before letting him do whatever he wanted. The vice president really do need help for that one— and Jake was being nice not because he feels guilty for having the younger boy do all the work by himself, but because he wanted to ask something.
Thankfully, Jay was not around the meeting room today. Usually, he would be there to defend Jungwon and give everyone free coffees, but he didn't showed up today— and Jake takes this moment to talk to the vice president.
"How...did you know Sunoo?" Jake started.
"Taekwondo club," Jungwon answered. "We met during registration. He walked up to me and said he'll make me his model if he became a successful designer."
Jake nodded. Sunoo would really talk to anyone he found interesting, someone who has a body proportion he liked, or a face he adore.
"Sadly, he didn't made it to the club but he would still stop by some time to talk to me," Jungwon continued. "But that's like three weeks ago? The last message I received from him was that he's transferring to another university."
Jungwon smiled up at him after tying the plastic bag close, "I can do the remaining duties, thanks," the vice president said before he turns around and leave the room.
Jake forced a smile back, he looked around the empty meeting room and decided he wouldn't want to stay over there for his remaining free time. He takes his things with him and left the department, walking outside to the library.
Since the end of semester is near and there's a lot of school activities for the next month, Jake needed to complete the remaining of his written projects. Also, he's hoping to see Jay in the library too.
Their friendship was not yet official, they just got closer last year after working together as student leaders. They started having lunch together and coincidentally shares a few classes. Jay would invite him to a few occassions but that's just normal. For secrets and other personal things, Jake may have shared a few but Jay remained a close book with a few free pages open to Jake.
However, Jake still feel anxious and worried if Jay wouldn't do like his usual routine of visiting the faculty. There's only two reasons for that, Jay must be in the library doing his paper works— or, he's out partying with his other friends and didn't inform Jake. No, Jake does not feel sad about the second reason. He was used to being friendless— he does have a few friends but that was like only for social survival, he didn't even know if they're genuine people or what.
The only genuine friend Jake has was Sunghoon.
A small smile painted his lips upon thinking about his childhood best friend. Who is now his ex-boyfriend. Sunghoon still sends him messages but Jake was too pre-occupied with other things and he didn't know how to respond.
Jake went from the ground floor to the third, checking every corners of every floor to look for Jay but the former council president was nowhere to be found.
He used up all his remaining free time looking for a person that may have only forgotten to inform him he's out somewhere, probably having fun.
At the end of the day, Jake only found himself walking back home after spending the rest of the day alone. He actually prefers to be alone at times, but for today, he was hoping for Jay's company— because there's a story that he wanted to share.
