Zach's pov
"Zach! Hurry up in the shower," my sister Taylor yelled, banging on the bathroom door. I turned off the water and grabbed my towel, "Alright, I'm coming!"
I opened the door and found Taylor standing outside the door irritated.
"We're gonna be late if you keep it up."
"I don't care," I said. "What is that on your face?" "It's called makeup moron." "You're too young to wear makeup." She rolled her eyes, "No I'm not. I'm not a kid anymore."
Since Taylor is starting high school this year, she talks about how excited she is 24/7 and how she's "not a kid anymore".
I, on the other hand, am not looking forward to going to school today. Over the summer, my family and I moved here to Pikesville, Maryland. Now I don't know anyone here and I had to leave all my friends back in New Jersey.
"Whatever," I said. Just be ready in 15 minutes.
Leah's pov
I grabbed my jacket out of the closet and put on my bookbag. "Mom, Dad, i'm leaving!"
"Wait! Let me take a picture," Mom ran back into her room to get her phone. "A picture? Seriously? Mom, I'm not in kindergarten." I said. "I know, but you're growing up so fast and-"
"I know, I know! Fine, i'll take the picture." "Get one with your father too," she pushed my dad beside me. "Mom, i'm gonna be late!" I whined. "Don't worry about it, I'll drive you," Dad said, grabbing his lunch bag.
"Have a great day you two," said mom, kissing dad and I goodbye. "You too, bye mom."
I usually don't get a ride to school. I live in the city but I go to a county school, so I have to take the subway and a bus to get to school. I went to school in the city in middle school but my parents think it's safer to go to a county school. It takes me about an hour to get to school if I take the bus & subway but I'll hopefully be driving soon.
"Alright, here we are, Pikesville high. Have a great day." "Thanks for the ride dad," I say while getting out of the car. "Wait, Leah." "Yeah?" "Here's some money for lunch," he says, kissing me on the cheek. "Thanks. Dad! You're embarrassing me!" "Sorry," he says. "See you later. Love you." "Bye. I Love you too," I said.
As I walked away from the car, I noticed a tall, curly haired boy looking in my direction. Wait, is he looking at me? No, he's probably looking at someone behind me. None of the boys at my school paid any attention to me. Not that I care. I don't find any of them attractive anyway. But this one, he's pretty cute. He's probably new. I definitely would've noticed him-
Next thing I know, I'm nearly being tackled to the ground, "What the fuck?" "Leah! Oh my gosh, I missed you bitch!" "Thanks for giving me a heart attack Deirra! (Dee-air-ruh)" I exclaimed, slightly shoving her.
"Well, in my defense, I haven't seen you in like 2 weeks." Dierra says. "Yeah, you love me, I know," I teased. She sucked her teeth. "Shut up, don't be like that."
"I'm kidding. You know I love you," I said. "What do you have first period?"
"Physics," she said, handing me her schedule. "We have English, History and lunch together."
"I'll see you later then."
"Bye."My first period class was French. Surprisingly, I managed to get there before the bell rung. Some of these idiots don't know how to walk down the freaking hallway. It's so irritating.
Anyway, I get to French class and my teacher, Madame Burton tells me where my seat is. I hate when teachers assign seats. Am I in elementary school or what?
Fortunately my seat isn't too close to the front. I like being in the middle of the classroom, but still far away as possible from the dummies who usually sit in the back of the room. There are mostly juniors and sophomores in this class. I actually like some of these people, but not enough to talk to them.
As i'm just sitting down, the last kid comes in and sits down next to me. I don't look at them right that second, but I can tell it's a guy. He has a Michael Kors watch on his hairy, muscular arm.
"Hi. I'm Zach," the boy says, reaching his hand out towards me. "Hi, I'm-" I look up and shit, it's the cute boy I saw earlier. He's much more attractive up close. Breathe Leah. He's just a boy.
"Excuse me?" He asked. "Oh! Uh, sorry," I giggled nervously. "My name is, uh, Leah." "Leah. What a pretty name."
Did you guys like Chapter 1? Tell me what you think :)
The next chapter should be up soon. I'll try to update each chapter as soon as possible.(And the picture above is China Anne McClain as Leah)
