[Chapter #2: Meeting At The Library]

~ The Next Day ~

Nico's P.O.V:

This was ridiculous. So far, my day had been horrible, as always, of course.
But anyways, I was just in town, and than I fell right into a dirty puddle face-first. And of course everyone laughed!
Listen, I have a rebal kind of streak in town. Everyone hates me, and I'm apparently just some cursed boy, because bad stuff always happens to me.
That's why everyone avoids me.
And than just yesterday, some...stupid cute boy just had to help me pick up my books!
Why wasn't he afraid of me like everyone else?! I have no idea.
But than again, I've never seen him in town before. He's probably new.
But he should learn to stay away from me, I wouldn't like a cute helpful boy like him to get hurt because of my stupid curse of bad stuff always happening to me.
Wait...why would I care?! I don't!

I continued to storm off to the library carrying my books, today they were due so I had to return them, yesterday I tried reading them every single chance I got.
When I got to the library, the librarian, probably the only person who wasn't afraid of me, was a sweet old lady who had the library open 24-7, and it was a nice quiet place, so no one bothered me.
I walked in.
"Ah! Hello Sweetie. Here to return your books, yes?" She said.
"Yes, Ms. Helin." I responded.
I dropped off my books at the front, and than I started walking through the library to look around for new ones.

After a couple minutes, I was walking with my nose stuck in a book (I know, stupid idea), when all of a sudden-
BOOM!
I smashed into someone and fell back landing on my butt.
"Uggghh..ow.." I groaned,
"Oh my Gosh! I am so sorry! Are you ok?!" Someone said, though their voice sounded familiar.
I looked up to see who it was, and immediately my heart started racing and my cheeks flushed.
It was that stupid cute boy from yesterday.
"Here, let me help you up." The blonde said, holding out his hand.
I slapped it away.
"It's whatever. I don't need your help." I said, grabbing the book and hauling myself up.
"Oh..um ok.." He said, though he looked disappointed.
For some reason, that left an empty sad feeling inside me seeing him upset.
"Uh...T-Thanks though..." I grumbled, looking down.
Why on earth was I thanking him?!
*Because he's cute..* I thought.
My face flushed, and I clutched the book in my hands harder, pressing it tighter to my chest to get my heart to stop beating so fast.
The Boy Smiled.
"My Name's Will, what about you?" He asked, slightly tilting his head.
"Uh..I'm..Nico..." I looked away.
For some reason, he seemed to be happier with that.
I was glad he was happy. He looked cute happy.
"Nice name!" He said, bouncing a bit on his feet.
Gosh, why was he so happy and cute?!
What is going on with me?! Why was my heart speeding like this!?
What kind of dumb trick is this!?
"What are you doing to me?! What are you trying to do!?" I shouted at him.
"Um..what? I uh..I just wanna be your friend?" He said, giving me a confused look.
"Well, I don't wanna be your friend!" I said, turning around to storm off.
But suddenly, someone grabbed my wrist and pulled me back.
"Wait! Please, give me a chance, let me be your friend." He said, with the saddest, cutest, eyes ever. His eyes were so beautiful, they were a gorgeous blue that made my heart flutter, and made me want to stare into them forever.
I felt my heart speeding up again, and my face growing redder.
"F-fine..." I grumbled.
"But don't think this means I like you or anything! You're very annoying!" I said, so he didn't get any ideas.
He laughed, something that sounded so angelic, so beautiful, a sound I almost never heard anymore, and I almost fainted. Literally.
My knees felt weak, suddenly my vision blurred, and all my focus was on that beautiful laugh, my heart racing as it echoed in my head, my cheeks heating up.
And than I fell.
And Will caught me in his arms.
He gave me a concerned look,
"Are you sure your ok? You didn't hit your head, right?" He said, his tone worried.
I immediately gathered myself.
*What is wrong with you?!* I thought.
"I-I'm fine!" I said, backing up from him.
He smiled softly at me. My heart thundered in my chest.
"Ok, if you say so. Uh...so, what book are reading?" He asked.
"Oh uh...it's called Black Beauty- it's a book about a horse." I said, holding it out to show him the cover.
"Cool! Uh..do you wanna read it together?" He asked.
"Oh, uh, sure." I said without thinking properly.
He smiled, and he grabbed my hand.
I felt like I was gonna faint again.
I was holding hands with the cute blonde boy!

We walked over to one of the smaller corners of the library, a quiet place we could read silently alone together.
We both sat down, and he opened the book to the first page.
"Ok," He said,
"I'll read the first four chapters, and you can read the next."
"Are you sure? They're kind of long." I said.
"Nah, it's fine! I'm a fast reader!" He said, flashing me with a smile.
I blushed again.
"O-ok." I responded.

He started reading.
After while, my eyes started to drift closed, I kept blinking fast, trying to keep myself awake.
But pretty soon, Will's voice sounded so soft and soothing, I scooted closer to him.
I placed my head on his shoulder, feeling him breathe and listening to his soft voice.
I tried to focus on the book, following along as he read, but my eyes became sore.
Everything was just too perfect.
His soft voice in my ears, and me resting on his shoulder.
Eventually, I let my eyes close, and before I knew it, I was fast asleep.
