[Chapter #3: The Sad Truth Of Royalty]

Will's P.O.V:

After awhile, I noticed Nico had fallen asleep. His head rested on my shoulder, and he looked peaceful.
I smiled.
This boy was interesting, he yelled a lot, and was definitely stiff. But when he wasn't, he looked adorable. His face expression softened, and it was just him looking like a normal kid his age.
I liked him. I liked the challenge in him, the fact that I have to be gentler with him.
Which was easy, since I was always calm. He just needed soft words and a gentle touch, and boom. He was fast asleep calmly on my shoulder.

I gazed out the window.
Suddenly, I realized it was sun down, and I needed to get back now.
I was disappointed to leave Nico, but I needed to if I didn't want my mother to be mad.
I gently shook the boy's shoulder.
"Nico...wake up."
He yawned.
"Huh..?" He looked at me sheepishly.
"Uh, I'm sorry..I need to go. I'll see you later, Nico." I said, smiling at him.
"Oh..uh ok." He said, getting up.
I handed him his book, and took off.

I got there just in time.
I walked in the castle.
I walked over to the dining room, and I saw my mother talking to a girl and her daughter, I assume.
"Hello." I said.
"Ah! There he is!" My mother exclaimed.
"Mrs. Casie, This is my son, Will Solace." She said.
"Hello, Mrs." I said, waving at her.
The girl next to her, her daughter, giggled a bit and covered her mouth.
"Ah, Hello! This is my daughter," She said waving at the girl next to her as she stepped forward.
"Hi, I'm Isabel." She said, smiling and titling her head a bit before bouncing on her feet.
"Uhh...Hello!" I said, though I was starting to get confused. My mother never let people in her castle.
"Sweetheart, Isabel is the princess of ice. She's from the Ice Kingdom." My Mother told me.
And I realized, she definitely seemed like an ice princess.
She had snow white hair on one side covering her left, and the other side was black. Half-Half.
To go with her white hair, she had a sharp blue eye, and to go with her black hair, she had a deep brown eye.
She was beautiful, but not exactly my type.
"Give me a moment to talk to my son about something." My mother said, guiding me out of the room.
"Son, Isabel is going to be your future wife." She said, once we were out in the hallway.
"What?!" I said,
"I don't even know her!"
"I know, but you need a queen to rule with you. And, well, you haven't exactly found a princess yet." She explained.
"That's not my fault!" I exclaimed.
"I know it isn't!! But I decided Isabel was the best choice for you!" My Mother told me.
"Does she know we're supposed to get married?" I said.
"Yes, her mother has explained this to her already. She has agreed to it, if she likes you. So just, be on your best behavior. Plus, she's beautiful too!" My Mother said clasping her hands together.
"But-"
Before I could say anything more, my mother dragged me back into the room.

I continued to talk to Isabel until dark, than I had to go to sleep.
While laying in my bed, I thought about her. I noticed one thing with her.
She was very expressive in Body language.
She always twirled her hair, and bounced on her feet, clapping, smiling, and getting these sparkles in her eyes.
That was one thing I liked about her, I guess. But I still wasn't feeling any romantic feelings for her.
But when I thought about Nico..
My heart skipped, my face warmed up, and I was suddenly more energized and happy.
Of course, I'm always happy, but Nico makes me feel extra happy. It's like you getting your favorite toy, or treat, or a favorite activity of yours, and being able to play it all day. It makes you extra happy.
But I'm starting to wonder if these feelings are even acceptable. Every boy dates a girl, I've never seen a boy with a boy, or a girl with a girl.
I suddenly found it hard to sleep.
In fact, how was I even going to explain this to Mother? Will I have to hide these feelings forever, will I just have to deal with Isabel?
Will I just never be able to get with Nico?
And than the worst thought hit me.
What if Nico doesn't even like me back?
The thought ringed through his ears.
