I wanted to like "Only Friends."
Originally, I thought the characters were interesting and the storyline was entertaining. However, I quickly found the characters to be insufferable with little redeeming qualities. The main plot — which was hazy from the beginning — became bogged down with extra side stories and situations that took away from the core of the series.
I began writing a short blog/essay entitled "How I'd Change Only Friends." As the writing delved deeper into the characters and their stories, I realized I wouldn't be happy unless I did a rewrite of the series (as I did with the show "2gether").
So, welcome to my reimagining of "Only Friends."
Without giving away too much of the plot, this reimagining focuses on Mew, Boston, and Ray, and their friendship with each other, as well as their individual love lives. I have changed a lot from the series, but I think it is for the best.
