"All of you did well in the homework I gave you." Mr.Payne said, handing everyone their homework we had last time.

He handed me mine and I got all the answers right. I smiled to myself when I found that he has drawn a happy face for me, again.

Yesterday wasn't that fun though, nothing interesting had happened. It was just a typical boring Thursday. Plus that we didn't have Maths class.

But on the bright side, today is Friday and the first class is Maths.

"So now, open page four in your book and start solving it and then we'll check it together." He told us and sat down on his chair.

I opened my book, flipping through the pages till I reached page four. It was 'choose the right answer' kind of exercise. I started solving as I was told and it was related to what we took last time. It took me five minutes only to answer the exercises then, I leaned back in my seat waiting for the rest of the class to finish.

Looking up from my book, my eyes were met by the most attractive ones. Mr.Payne smiled at me from across the class and looked away right after it. I smiled down to myself, my brows knitting together.

Was he staring at me?

There was so many thoughts on my mind but I I brushed them away, because I shouldn't be thinking that way. He has just looked at me .. nothing more.

"Okay class," Mr.Payne clapped his hands together, drawing our attention to him. "The first question, Micheal answer it." He ordered Micheal, one of my classmates.

"It is .. B?" Micheal hesitated, not sure of his answer.

Mr.Payne looked up from his own book, "Yes, it is." He told him, looking back down to his book. "Chloe, answer the second question."

And again I felt a jolt of electricity inside of me as the mention of my name. "C" I answered and again, it sounded as if I'm so full of myself but I wasn't, really. But I always seem like I'm so confident while I'm not at all.

"Right." He told me, without making eye contact. Disappointment hitting me for no reason but I brushed that feeling away, quickly.

He kept on calling other names to answer the questions and when it was Harry's turn, he answered wrong even thought the question was very easy. I think he answered wrong on purpose, just like what he does with other teachers. Maybe he won't get convinced that Mr.Payne wasn't like the rest of the teachers but whatever, he doesn't have to.

"Okay last question." He paused, scanning the class for someone to answer the last question. "Chris."

"Hum, let's see." She mumbled, still thinking for the answer.

I peeked a look at her book but she hasn't chosen an answer yet. I chuckled at her as she was still confused, "B." I whispered to her the right answer but of course she didn't hear me.

I shook my head at her as she dumbly chose A. "Wrong, It's B." I whispered again and she finally noticed what I was saying.

I glanced at Mr.Payne and he was already looking directly at us. For some reason I was afraid that he has caught me when I was trying to give the answer. I was expecting this anyway.

"What?" She whispered back, making it so obvious. I rolled my eyes at her and then looked towards Mr.Payne and he was already laughing at us.

"It's A." She finally answered Mr.Payne, ignoring what I was trying to tell her.

"Oh my gosh, you're so stupid!" I exclaimed out loud not caring because Mr.Payne had already seen me.

Mr.Payne burst out laughing, his eyes closing as he did so, forming crinkles at the corners of his eyes.
