"c'mon Sia, there's no way I'm letting you spend your birthday at home alone."

"Mia, I have a sister to take care of. I can't be going out to party and besides, I have work, so my answer is still no. Wait, and besides my birthday isn't until next month. Seems you're a bit sober."

"No, I'm in my right senses. I meant to say my birthday."

"I'll send you something, but sorry I can't make it."

"Sia come over to my house now."

"And if I refuse?"

"Well then, I guess you're going to have a scene."

"Okay okay Mia, I'm on my way. Shit!"

Diara said and hung up. She knew that Mia could go to any length to get what she wanted.
"Head to Mia's house." She said.

In a matter of minutes, the car pulled up at Mia's residence. Mia was also a success story, and she lived low-key, but not like Siara.
"Mia, I'm here. I must say, it's about time you grow up."

"Oh Sia, my best friend since middle school, you've always been alone and you never go out. You never come for any parties but this is my birthday Sia, I don't want anymore gifts from you. If you want to gift me anything, then that'll be your presence at my party."

"No way Mia. I have to be home with Sarah. I don't trust anyone to look after her."

"Well, she's a big girl. She's almost 18 for crying out loud. Give her a break. You're too domineering. You have to let her go and grow."

"I'll check in with her and see if she's ok with me gone."

"No need. I already informed her that you'll be out for my birthday party and she's fine with it. It's next Friday Siara, think about it."

"So will you be there?"

"What time?"

"Yes."

"I only asked the time. I never said I was coming "

"Oh yeah. It starts at 8pm and ends well however the night goes."

"If I come, I'm not taking more than 2 shots and, I'm leaving at 9."

"9? Why? That's too early."

"Ok 9:30 and not a minute later."

"Yeah yeah whatever. Please also, dress nice. Don't show up in trousers please."

"Hmph." She sighed and went out. Just as she was about to get into the car, Mia called from the doorway.

"Sia"

"What?" She answered with disgust clear on her face.

"Don't forget, you owe your sister and I an ice cream date tomorrow, after school."

" I know." She said,got in the car and left.
