Amelia gathered all her subjects to discuss the identity of Ethan's unknown mate. Maintaining their status in society was paramount, and to do so, they needed to uphold their high standards—marrying their children into partner or rival companies, wealthy businessmen, and the like. The idea of Ethan being mated with a commoner threatened to bring devastating consequences to their family's name. As the last pureblood lineage of Lycans from ancient times, the Wallace family held a prestigious status that Amelia was determined to protect. She would not allow a mysterious mate to jeopardize that legacy.

"We must find this person immediately and conduct a thorough background check before word gets out," Amelia instructed with an air of authority.

Nicholas listened in silence, his suspicions gnawing at him. He was convinced that the young man he had recently encountered might be Ethan's mate. From what he observed, the young man didn't appear to be well-off, nor did he show any signs of coming from a Lycan lineage. In fact, the young man seemed to be a wolf from a poor omega family—a revelation that would certainly not meet Amelia's exacting standards.

"Mother, what would happen if the mate turns out to be a commoner?" Nicholas asked, his voice tinged with concern.

Amelia sighed heavily. "Goddess forbid, but if that were the case, we would do whatever is necessary to remove them from the equation."

Nicholas frowned at the thought. He couldn't bear the idea of an innocent young wolf becoming a casualty of his family's obsession with status. "Mother, isn't that going too far? We're talking about someone's life."

"I'm not suggesting murder, Nicholas," Amelia replied, her tone cold and resolute. "I mean silencing them—offering a substantial sum of money to ensure they disappear. Far from Ethan, far from us. But if it comes to a point where they refuse to cooperate, I won't hesitate to take more extreme measures. We cannot allow anyone to threaten our family's legacy," she finished, her words steely and unwavering.

Nicholas realized that if his family discovered the young wolf's true status, both the wolf and his family could be in grave danger. To protect them, he decided to keep what he knew to himself. "I understand, Mother. Don't worry—we'll uncover the identity of this mystery mate soon enough. Just try not to stress yourself, alright?"

Amelia smiled at her son's reassurance, pulling him into a warm embrace. It was her way of expressing gratitude for everything Nicholas did for the family. He returned the smile, but his mind was already racing, focused on finding a way to protect the young wolf and his family before his own family discovers their identity.

Back at school, Kenneth had been feeling really overwhelmed by the amount of people that have been staring at him like he has something on his face. He decided to visit the comfort room and wash his face off and look at his reflection. He wanted to know what all the fuss is about. The moment he raised his head and looked at the mirror he almost jumped when he saw how beautiful his skin looks. It was indeed as if he was glowing. His lips were also unnaturally plump and red. His hair although messy was
sitting perfectly on his face and his eyes became brighter, his lashes longer and his brows neat. He never did anything to his face for him to look that good. He starts freaking out and quickly exits the comfort room to the hallways.

The images of what happened to him the night before kept flashing in his mind and he would verbally tell himself off, closing his eyes shut. He kept muttering to himself until he bumps into someone. "Oh sorry!" He apologizes only to meet with Lacey's surprised face. "Lacey!"

Lacey stared at Kenneth, wide-eyed, before she could respond. "What happened to you?! You look amazing!" she exclaimed.

Kenneth, feeling embarrassed, quickly covered her mouth. "I don't know what you're talking about, but please, don't add to the list of weird things that have happened to me today."
