Chapter 5

"Hi guys" Meryl said, trying to smile

"Hi, uhm we will let you and Pierce alone. Bye guys" Colin said, smiling when he saw the look Pierce shot him as they were walking away

"Hey" Pierce said as turned to Meryl "is everything okay?"

"Uhm yeah yeah, I just wanted us to talk about something" she said looking in his eyes

"Yeah, what is it?" he asked nervously

"I want to talk about this morning. I know it's maybe not the right time to talk about that, we are all scared and everything but i think we'll still have to stay here for a long time so let's do it"

"Yeah you're right, I also wanted to talk about it but I didn't know how. What do you want to say?" he gave her a serious look

"I want to say sorry, I shouldn't have said that I mean, it's your life you can do whatever you want. I was just wondering why you never came to talk to us, it would have been great to talk to everyone before starting to film" she said, still not telling him the real truth

"Oh it's okay, I'm sorry too, I should have came to you but I was so drunk that I didn't even realize what I did or didn't" he chuckled a bit

"Well now that we talked about it I feel better" she smiled at him a little

"I'm glad" he said, smiling back at her

"Yeah uhm I'll go call Don now, he must be worried" she said trying to get away

"Did you tell him about this guy?" Pierce asked as he grabbed her arm before she could walk away

"Yes of course and he's on his way here" she said smiling at the thought that he would be there soon

"Oh that's great" he said releasing his arm, his mood had definitely changed

Meryl walked to the corner of the room and dialed Don's number.

"Hey darling" she heard him say

"Hi baby" she said with a big smile on her face even if he couldn't see it

"Are you still safe in the hotel? Did you get more news about the guy? You're not hurt are you?" he said, worrying

"Calm down babe, I'm okay don't worry. We are all still at the same place and no news. When do you arrive? Because I really wanna see you" She started having tears in her eyes 'cause of the stress of the day

"They said that we will land in approximately one hour so I'll probably be at the hotel in 1 hour and a half. I really wanna see you too, the fact that you're there by yourself is killing me" he said admitting his feelings

"Don't worry I have the entire cast with me. But you are alone so be really careful on your way here, I don't want anything to happen to you"

"I will, okay now I'll hang up 'cause I can't really hear you anymore but do not worry I will call you when we land"

"Okay, I love you Don"

"I love you too Mer, so much. Stay sa-" he said when the call ended before he could finish his sentence

Meryl sat up on the first chair she found and looked at pics of her and Don. The first one was a picture of her, Don and Grace that was taken by the press at the Oscars in 2007, maybe one of her favorite pictures. The second one was a photo of them that she had taken during a trip to Italia. They looked so in love and that made her want him even more. She had left her house not that long ago but even after more that 20 years it's was still hard to leave her house, her children and Don.
