It all happened so fast. . . but somehow, she remembered it all still.

Nevi was currently sitting in the hospital wing of the grand Hogwarts castle. Continuously, staring at her newly bandaged arm as it was now currently lying in a sling. As she was staring down, she was also holding back the tears that tried to form in her eyes, as she remembered the days' recent events.

~ Flashback Begins ~

It was surprisingly a clear and sunny day in the Scottish countryside. As the sky decided to present itself to the first-year students on their first day at Hogwarts.

Nevi stood with her classmates on the fresh green grass in one of the castles' courtyards. Which so happened to be their classroom for their first ever broom flying lesson. The young witchlet could not stop the ever-growing nervousness and excitement that formed in her gut at the prospect of flying on a broom for the first time. Even if it was a practice one.

While waiting patiently for their flying instructor, Nevi quietly observed the rest of the class. Which comprised of all the first-year students from each house. Which unfortunately, meant that the Gryffindors and Slytherins had to intermingle in one class.

One thing about Hogwarts she noticed quickly was that in each class, two houses were paired up with each other. She did not know why this was the case, but she had her guesses. One was probably since even though there were a lot of first years coming to Hogwarts for the first time. The sorting ceremony dwindled their numbers by putting only a select few in the four different grand houses. So, they combined two different houses in the class, so the professors would have more students to teach. That or they could have done this because of "House Unity", meaning that more houses had a chance to bond with each other instead of fighting or just interacting with the wizards and witches of their own house.

Both answers were correct, but Nevi leaned more towards the first hypothesis. Since she had already heard of the legendary unspoken feud between the Gryffindor lions and the slithering snakes of the Slytherin house. Both rival houses in anything and everything. At first, she thought that this feud was nothing but a joke or a small little rivalry that did not have that much significance.

But boy was she wrong!

The feud was real, and it was a MAJOR thing apparently, whether it be the smallest things such as accidentally running into someone orlooking at a certain individual for too long. Or even something that was noteworthy to start an argument. Both Gryffindors and Slytherins just love to fight. 'At least that is something they do have in common,' thought the young witch.

For Nevi, all her life she was never a confrontational person, she hated arguments even if it was just a small argument. They always made her feel trapped, and she HATED feeling trapped. So, to avoid conflict she would just stand in the background and watch silently, like she is doing right now, just watching her classmates silently like an archaeologist watching an unsuspecting animal.

Just watching. . .

While observing, she saw on one side of the yard the Slytherins who stood conversing with themselves, while also whispering and pointing towards the other side of the yard. Towards the Gryffindors, her house, and in return some of the Gryffindor students shot ugly looks towards the Slytherins. She even heard one kid consider whacking one of the Slytherin students with his broom. An idea that was quickly shot down by another student, since such an action could cost them house points. The Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff students, on the other hand, looked unbothered and ignored the obvious rivalry between the two houses.

Shifting her gaze away, Nevi's eyes soon landed on the one and only Harry Potter.

The boy who made the impossible, possible.
