Thunder boomed as I walked through the streets of South Korea. Dark skies loomed over and a drizzle of rain poured down on the land. Thankfully, I had my umbrella with me to keep me protected from the rain. If it kept up, the drizzle would turn into a full on storm. Why am I out here this late at night? Well, its because Yeondu High has some study sessions held at night, according to a student called Sung-a at least.
Since I transferred from c/n (country name), I wasn't really too educated in Korean. She offered to help me learn and so I figured it was worth a try. Though... I have heard some worrying stories. Mainly about the school at night. Apparently, there are ghosts that roam the halls at night and more than a few of them are hostile. I just hoped that they were only stories made to scare students from sneaking into the school.
After a few more minutes of walking, I found myself in front of the gates which were open. What was the point in the gates if they weren't closed? Did the school just think that the ghost stories were enough to deter intruders?
Shaking my head from the thought, I entered the school grounds and opened the door to the main building. Upon entering, I found myself in a standard hall, rows of lockers were along the sides of the halls and the floor was completely wooden. I had to admit, this place was nicely kept clean. Janitors must love their job here.
Y/n: Right... Now where did Sung-a say to meet again? It was... Room 8? I think? Oh boy... This is gonna take awhile.
I muttered, rubbing the back of my head. I had only transferred here a couple days ago and I was still learning the layout of this school. With no other choice, I decided to just roam the halls until I found what I was looking for.
In all honesty, I hated schools that had halls like this. It was like navigating a maze! Even with the rooms being tagged, it was just annoying to deal with. Turning around a corner, I saw what looked like a janitor at the end of the hallway. It was an old balding man who for some reason had a baseball bat in one hand and a set of keys in the other. To my horror, he was beating on a student that wasn't moving at all now! The bat in his hand was painted with splatters of crimson liquid, only adding to my horror.
Backing up slowly, I felt my back hit one of the lockers, making a gentle thud noise. Despite it being quiet for the most part, the janitor immediately stopped beating on the student's body and turned to me. His eyes were sharp and large. Without a second thought, he began to run towards me, screaming in a fit of anger. The terror of the situation was enough to make me run back the way I came.
What the hell was going on?! Why was that janitor beating on the student?! Hell, was that guy even alive anymore?!
I continued running until I reached the entrance. My hands grabbed hold of the doorknobs and as much as I tried to open the door, it refused! It was like it got locked! WHY?! WHO LOCKED IT?!
I tried to kick it down, but to no avail. The janitor's shouts got louder as he closed in on me. Great. So I had nowhere to go and I was being chased by a psycho! Looking around, I found a fire extinguisher. Picking it up, I tried to break the door down once more, but it still held up! Damn! How strong were these doors?!
The shriek of a whistle pierced my ears, prompting me to turn back, seeing the bald man sprinting at me with his bloodied bat raised high. Raising the fire extinguisher, I slammed it down on the man's head, striking him hard, but not out. Groaning, he shook his head, but I didn't stop with the one attack. I swung the fire extinguisher upside his head, making him fall backwards onto the ground. He fell limp and his bat fell out of his hand, rolling away.
Heavy breaths left my lips, but once I caught my breath, I dropped the fire extinguisher and picked up the keys from the janitor. Maybe he had the key to escape, right?
I tried every key that he had, but to my surprise and disappointment, none of them worked. Shouldn't the janitor have access to every room in the school? Including the exit? Shit... So where the hell do I go now? Wait... Sung-a is still in the school, isn't she? Oh shit... What if she ran into this janitor?
Y/n: Goddamnit... Looks like I'm heading deeper inside.
I mumbled. I picked up the bat to defend myself and quickly checked the janitor's pulse. He was still alive. I just hoped he wouldn't try to chase me down again after this. Leaving him behind, I proceeded further into the school, hoping to find Sung-a and get the hell out of this place.
But... It turns out the journey would be a lot harder than I initially thought...
