I wrote a story from a prompt I was given by a friend, here is the prompt: "A queen having to choose during a natural disaster, such as a tornado or earthquake, which one of her kits to attempt to save first, knowing there is only a limited amount of time.", This is recent, like last week on a Sunday (I also didn't proofread because of how tired I was and it's 5 pages long in Google docs-.) NGL I might make her give me another prompt to write to-
Enjoy!

Mushroompond licked the head of one of her three little kits, Poolkit, a brown and black kit, that looked just a bit like her, then there was Nightkit a black molly, and Riverkit a sliver kit, who was playing just out of the delicate mother's reach. Poolkit was smaller and weaker than her two sisters but that was just fine. She knew that Poolkit would be a great asset to Riverclan one day. Ealbounce, a tom that wasn't the kit's father but acted as if he was one, was out in the clearing talking with fellow clanmates. Mushroompond paid the tom little attention but she was grateful that he was there for her kits.
Mushroompond she took her gaze off of Poolkit, knowing that the sleeping kit wouldn't be going anywhere. Gazing over at the other two affectionately. Mushroompond had never been so happy in her life. With all the tragedy that she has been through she always thought that she didn't deserve this, or that maybe starclan didn't want her to be happy, but she was. She finally had the one thing she always wanted, a family.
Granted it wasn't perfect, but it was enough. Mushroompond loved her kit, she loved her clan, she loved.
But, not everything is ever perfect, is it?
One nightfall Mushroompond and her kits were fast asleep, though Poolkit wasn't in the nursery with her, the kit had caught a sickness not too long ago. It was deadly and she was told not to go near the kit in case she caught it or Riverkit and Nightkit would. Mushroompond was upset about being unable to see Poolkit, but she trusted the Medicine cat not to budge any further.
On that night it felt like it was raining, but it wasn't rain that fell from the sky, no. It damaged the den's one fell through the nursery and almost hit Mushroompond in the head. She instinctively woke up from the sound, what almost hit her was white like snow, but it was a ball, hard and wouldn't break no matter the force. When she was a young kit, elders always said to be wary of these things. Some had killed cats by impact to the head. The larger it was the more deadly they said. The elders also called it 'hail.'
She was lucky, to say the least. To not get hit by this hail. She couldn't imagine what would have happened if it did. Would she die? Would she never be able to see her kits grow old and have kits of their own one day? The thought sent a shiver down Mushroompond's spine. Mushroompond would wrap her tail around her kits, unable to sleep not knowing how Poolkit was.
Soon Ealbonce pushed his head into the nursery, it was only a matter of time before the rest of the clan would wake with the den's being destroyed. "Mushroompond, you're awake." he started his voice laced in tiredness, but he sounded weary too. "I can't sleep, not with this going on." She mewed, referring to the hail. After she spoke the wind howled, and it sounded as if the forest trees were being pulled from their roots. The wind would only get worse from there. Mushroompond's face fell to horror.
This has to just be a storm! Let it be a storm Starclan! She thought pleading. Ealbounce entered the nursery fully. Taking shelter from the picking up storm. "Half of the clan is awake. More to come." Ealbonce mewed, he sounded so tired. "It's just a bad storm is it not?" Mushroompond mewed, she was trying to keep calm for her kits."How is Poolkit did you see her?" Mushroompond quickly asked, nearly jumping from her nest. Her sudden movement and talking woke Riverkit, and Nightkit, as the two squirmed to see what was happening.
