Castiel sat on the couch, a frown covering his face. The hunter within? That was bullshit. He just pitied the girl; that's all. Remiel paced the room in front of his son. He had been going on and on about something or another. Not that Castiel had been paying any attention, of course. After all, he did loathe being lectured at.

"I can use my name to get you out of trouble with the Demon Council this time, Castiel, but you best stay completely out of the radar for the time being. Any more incidents like that and the Council will reject your demonic half and list you as a hunter threat." Castiel snorted. Remiel shot his son a look, "Do you intend to get yourself killed, Castiel?"

"And what if I do?" Castiel retorted, giving his father a dark look in return. To Castiel's surprise, however, Remiel just sighed. Knowing that Castiel wouldn't listen to a thing he was saying, Remiel decided to take the conversation to those who actually cared and at least attempt to maintain his son's...mostly...clean record within the demonic world.

The next few days were quiet as Remiel hadn't returned. Castiel loitered about the house, avoiding both homework and training. Bob had stopped by the day after the incident to ask Castiel about his involvement in it, but he hadn't returned since. Reveling in this newfound freedom, Castiel decided to go for a walk. It was a bright, sunny, warm day, and he was not about to let it go to waste.

Castiel walked into the park with the intention of picking up lunch at the hotdog stand when he saw her. It was the huntress that he had saved a few days prior, placing him in this predicament. Glancing at his left shoulder, he saw that he had remembered to bandage his arm that morning. Smiling to himself, he trotted towards the girl—Evelyn if he recalled. A little fun wasn't going to hurt anybody, he figured.

Evelyn was leaning against the trunk of a tree, staring intently at a piece of paper in front of her. She hadn't made any notion of recognizing the sensation of a nearby demon. For reasons unknown to himself, this irritated Castiel. He frowned and crouched down directly behind her.

"You really suck as a huntress, you know." Castiel nearly laughed out loud at Evelyn's reaction. She swung her head around, facing him. Castiel pulled away slightly, noticing that they were only inches apart. Evelyn turned a deep scarlet before crumbling the paper in her hand. "Even a child would have noticed me. I wasn't exactly sneaking up on you, you know." Castiel tilted his head and raised an eyebrow ever so slightly, taunting her. Evelyn, her face only a rosy shade, turned away before responding.

"I was deep in thought." Castiel, taking her response as an acceptance, sat beside her against the tree.

"Come now, you can't have the same excuse twice," he glanced sideways at Evelyn. "Besides, what could possibly be filling your head so much that you don't even notice my blaring presence?" Evelyn snorted at Castiel's remark.

"Full of yourself, much?"

"I'd date me."

"Well I wouldn't." Castiel looked at her, his face aghast.

"I'd hope not! I am a demon, after all." Evelyn laughed.

"And here I thought you were a harmless little puppy who keeps following his new owner around." Castiel rolled his eyes.

"I happened on you by chance. I thought that irking you would be fun. Especially when I could make fun of your poor grade in Advanced Hunting 101."

Evelyn's cheeks darkened, "You saw?" She laughed. "It isn't the best, is it?"

Castiel, much to his chagrin, found himself smiling alongside her. "At least Miss Evy is smiling. Should she come to her untimely death due to a demon attack, I think she'd be proud of her final moment's picture."
