Chapter 1

A soft and melodic voice echoed in the living room, as sunlight streams in through the window and warms your face. "Aish, look at this beautiful red strawberry," the voice says. "Would you like to have a delicious strawberry cake for our mid-meal? I was thinking of making one." Suddenly, a younger voice pipes up, "Noona, is it true?"His innocent eyes looked at your dense figure as you knew what he was talking about

You went to him leaning toward his face and kissing his tomato-like cheeks "You know right our grandparents are getting old so now we should take responsibility and also I want to make sure that soon you will get the best treatment so that you can again walk Aish" he moved the handle of his wheelchair in the backward direction and picked the strawberries, putting them in his mouth

"B-But y-you don't have to worry about me noona I'm just a burden on you and on g-grandpare-" Before he was even able to complete his words you hugged him tightly and he buried his face in your stomach while finally breaking out

Your nine-year-old brother's tears fell uncontrollably on your shirt as he sobbed inconsolably. You couldn't help but feel emotional too, as you held him close. "No, Aish, you are a gift to our family. Don't you ever say this thing again. We will do everything we can to help you regain your feet. There are just a few things we need to take care of first," you assured him, trying to calm him down.

You patted his head while kissing his forehead and wiping his tears which are so precious to you "Just till summer vacation I will work there after that we will go to Seoul for better treatment" Your words gave him some hope to walk again on his feet, after the car accident three years ago his legs halted working and you both lost your parents in that same accident too

As you have recently turned 18, you are now legally an adult and it's just a few months before you graduate from high school. You are eager to make the most of your upcoming summer vacation by working hard and earning money for various purposes. You plan to work like an ox, putting in long hours and giving it your all to achieve your goals. Whether it's saving up for college, treatment of your brother or giving the best life to your grandparents, you are determined to make the most of your time and resources.

"You are the best sister anyone can ask for noona. You just didn't comfort me but you also comforted our grandparents while still being just so young, I've seen people around your age partying and wasting their money but you are different from them. MY WONDER WOMAN " You laughed at his words and again both the siblings hugged each other tightly knowing much well in a few hours you're going to leave him for two months straight

As you said, "Take care of yours and our grandparents also, I will try to come in between to meet you all Aish," your little brother nodded in agreement like the responsible and caring person that they are. A gentle smile spread across both of your faces as you exchanged happy glances, lost in the moment. However, what you didn't realize was that you were being watched by a pair of old and wise eyes. They looked upon you both with admiration and fondness, their hearts filled with love for the two of you.

Your grandma took her steady steps and wiped her tears meanwhile your grandpa came inside holding his wooden stick to walk properly "You both are much grown than your ages my babies" she said hugging you which made your grandpa tear up too

As you look at your grandpa, he turns to you with a smile and says, "Your parents must be so proud of you both." You couldn't help but beam with pride at his words, and his own smile grew wider, his eyes crinkling at the corners. But his expression soon turned sombre as he remembered the situation at hand.

"Sweetheart," he said, his voice soft and gentle, "the car driver is here to pick you up. Please take care of yourself and don't overwork. Make sure to eat on time, and if you find yourself with a little spare time, come visit us. My baby, just two more months, and then everything will be fine." You nodded, feeling grateful for his words of wisdom and encouragement, and promised to take his advice to heart.

He side hugged you from the other side and your brother hugged your waist and you pecked both your grandparents "Aish when I will come back I'll make the cake for you baby for now noona has to go" Listening to your words he clutched onto your dress tightly as if he will let go of you now you will disappear forever but nothing is in his hands

Letting go of your dress he smiled widely to hide the pain behind his beautiful smile, you clutched on the straps of your bag and settled inside the car, another middle-aged woman was seated in the passenger seat probably just like who was going to the mansion of the landlord for work

As you stood outside your house, you looked back at your family and gave them a wave, trying to hide the anxiety that was building up inside you. The engine of your car started with a roar, and you felt your breath hitch in your throat. You knew that from that moment on, you had to give your best effort to earn for your family. You were determined to make this summer vacation count, not aware of the fact that it was going to be a turning point in your life. Little did you know that with each passing second, your life was about to take an unexpected and dramatic turn.
