The longing I felt, my eyes fixated on him through the slightly tinted window to his office. God, he was majestic. Damn you and your beautiful face, Nathaniel. His eyes scanned the paper, and he blinked only a few times. Kinda creepy, but it seemed normal; he was so focused. A soft sigh escaped me as I watched him from my desk."Call me in, ask for me, do anything," I pleaded with myself in my mind, desperate for him to do something that involved me.

I watched as his eyes drifted from the paper, as if he sensed something. Our eyes met, and his widened in confusion, then softened, raising an eyebrow at me. I immediately snap out of my trance, looking away and clearing my throat, ignoring whatever the hell I did. I turn myself fully back to my monitor screen, keeping my gaze stuck there. I sigh softly with an exhale, attempting to not get flustered. "Don't call for me, don't come out of your office, please dear god." I contemplated my actions, putting a hand on my forehead, keeping it lowered in embarrassment.

Beep Beep. A groan escaped as I ran a hand through my hair. My eyes shifted to the intercom, seated next to one of those office phones. That damn blinking green light, my demise. Having to walk into his office is a curse and blessing. I press a button on the intercom, making the light stop blinking. I grab my notepad with a huff, standing up from my chair and spinning it around. I walk to Nathaniel's office door, black, tall, and intimidating for no reason. (just the way I like my men😏).

My hand lifts up hesitantly, knocking softly on the door before reaching for the golden doorknob, pushing the door open. I avoid making eye contact at first when I walk in, saying nothing just yet. The only thing in his office that can be heard is the soft squeak as the door closes behind me and the clacks of my heels hitting the marble floor. "You called?" My voice went a bit high as I spoke, revealing my nervousness.

Silence. Complete silence is heard from him. He's so frustrating at times. My eyes drifted up, wanting to see the expression on his face to assess my situation. But... he's already looking up at me. My heart skips a beat, and I freeze briefly before clearing my throat. "Sir?" It seemed like I snapped him out of his own trance as he set himself straighter on his leather chair, leaning forward and resting his arms on the desk.

"You were staring a lot back there, Alara," He mumbled, his eyebrow raised like before. I stuttered slightly, letting out a breath of embarrassment. "I was just checking to make sure you needed anything" A partial lie. I did want to check on him, but also, I love to admire him in his element.

Scoff. Ah, there it is. That scoff I know so well. The scoff that tells me he doesn't believe any of my bullshit. "Well alright, you were just doing your job then." Nathaniel leaned back, and the chair creaked as he did. "Yes sir," I nod and smile softly, hoping to convince him. His eyebrow lowered, his arms crossed over his chest, making his muscles pop a little as he tensed. "Is there anything else, sir?" I tilt my head slightly to the left, showing curiosity and interest.

He turns his head to the side, looking out the large rectangular window beside him. I turn my head with him. A beautiful skyline with the midday sun shining down. The building is so high up, one of the tallest in the city. And it's right by the harbor, one of my favorite perks in this job. "Eat with me for lunch." A demand. I turn my head back, and my eyes widen in a quiet excitement. He always eats alone in his office, or he goes to eat with his mother. Now he wants to eat with me? This is either a good thing or a bad thing.

"I know you have an exam tomorrow, so let me treat you for good luck." He said simply, like it wasn't the best thing I've ever heard come out of his mouth. I squeeze my notepad a little tighter to hold back my happiness. "Really?!" I said a bit too excitedly. He raised an eyebrow again and glanced over. I clear my throat and straighten myself. "Thank you, sir. That's very kind of you." He hummed in response, agreeing with me. "You're dismissed." I nod and turn in my heels, walking out of his office with a slight skip in my steps.

I slump down in my seat and lay my head on my desk. A blush is spread across my cheeks, blending in with my makeup, thankfully. "I'm going insane," I muttered, sighing.
