Tanya and her squad didn't know much about Alex and Ashley but they wanted to know their new Allies more.
Alex: parks the military truck and tells the group if they want to camp at this grocery store and they all agreed.

Yes he did and the last medal he got was the purple heart and he would tell me stories of him when he served in the Vietnam war and he did say that when he came back he was treated differently.. people called him a murderer and a baby killer and he didn't want to serve in the war but he wanted to serve his country and he wanted to help people too..
Tanya: he must have been such an incredible and chill grandpa huh.
Ashley: chuckles yeah he was and he gave very good advice and he may have been old but God damn was he such a wonderful man to get to know and talk too.
