Year and a half later

Street and I are in a relationship. We keep it under wraps but it's official.

I woke up and got dressed.

Street: morning baby

My heart stopped. He put his hand on my hip. I went over to my bedside table and pulled the door open. I looked at my birth control. I missed a pill. I looked at Street.

Street: what does that mean.
Courtney: I missed a day sometime in February. It's March Luca.
Street: I know. I thought there were just too many.

I opened my calendar on my phone. My period was three weeks late.

Courtney: three weeks late.
Street: do you think your pregnant?
Courtney: could be.
Street: oh man

I didn't say anything.

Street: let's get a test and find out.

We left early and went to CVS. I got the test and we went to work. I put my badge and gun on and went went inside. We went to the locker room. I went into the bathroom.

Street: Courtney.
Courtney: Street you know your aren't allowed in the girls bathroom.
Street: I am at times like this.

I put the cap on and went out. I set it down.

Courtney: takes ten minutes let's go to brief.

I slipped it into my cargo pocket. We went out.

Hondo: does anyone have anything they'd like to share before we get started.
Street: yeah Courtney's in a mood today don't push her buttons.

I gave him a shut up look.

Street: see?
Luca: you sure she's in a mood?
Street: positive.

I wanted to make a comment.

Street: say it.
Courtney: can't.
Hondo: what's between you two.
Street and courtney: roommate feud
Hondo: alright.
Deacon: Annie's about to pop
Luca: I got nothin
Tan: I'm hungry.

We laughed. I stood there.

Luca: what goin on after work today anybody doing anything?
Courtney: I have dinner with my parents.
Street: nothing.
Tan: I got nothing.
Deacon: I have a security assignment
Hondo: I'm gonna go see my mom.
Luca: alright well there's a game on tonight. You guys want to come over we can do beer and food get fat
Tan: sounds nice.
Street: sure man.

I smiled. A officer walked in.

?: Are you Courtney Wilson?
Courtney: I am.
?: I'm Paige Carter. Can I have a word with you?
Courtney: sure.

I took her to the kitchen.

Paige: do you know Sydney Tillman?
Courtney: yeah.
Paige: this morning one of my co workers was called to her aunts house. Her aunt called it in.
Courtney: what are you saying.
Paige: Sydney was murdered this morning. Her aunt hid somewhere, wasn't found.
Courtney: she was murdered?
Paige: yeah.
Courtney: by who
Paige: detectives are looking into it. I knew you guys were connected so I had to let you know.
Courtney: thank you.
Paige: detectives are probably gonna want to interview you, they know where to find you

I nodded. I walked her out.

Courtney: take this. Let's go for a beer sometime. I need s friends out of swat.
Paige: definitely.

She smiled and left. I went back to the conference room.

Hondo: who was that?
Courtney: Paige Carter, officer from the 72nd.
Luca: what did she want?
