I walked into the class, a bit tired from waking up super early than usual. "Ah you must be the new student!" The teacher exclaimed, smiling widely. I nodded, looking up at him with innocent eyes. "My names Mr. Arbo, its nice to meet you miss..." He stared at me, with his hand out. "Y/N" I said, smiling to hide the sleepiness.

He put his hand on my back and looked towards the class. "Settle down!" He yelled, pushing me forward a bit. "This Y/N L/N, she is new to our school and city" He said, looking down at me. "Why don't you sit next to Damian, okay?" He recommended, pointing to the boy with dark hair.

The people in the class snickered and whispered 'Good Luck' over at me. I sat down next to him, with a straight sleepy face. I looked at him and studied him silently. His slightly spikey black hair, paired with his green eyes. He looked at me and narrowed his eyes at me, which made me look away quickly.

"Alright class, unfortunately I have not been able to pick a book. So, I will be picking someone to pick one" He said, putting homework in bold letters on the white board. He looked around and saw everyone quiet, no raised hands. He looked over at the kid next to me and smiled. "Damian! How bout you choose hm?" He said smirking. Damian put the same smirk on his face and chuckled.

"Very well then, I pick Mark Helprins Winter tale" He simply said, crossing his arms on his desk. I looked at him puzzled. "Hah! Finally some enlightment to this classroom! Care to give us a summary Mr. Wayne?" He leaned on his desked and waited for Damian's response.

"Its about Gotham city, basically which is a lot better than metropolis believe me" He said, tapping his pencil on the wood desk. "Helprins saying that over time, the city will always find a way to protect its people, and its suffering will be avenged. Leading to a new golden age." He explained, tapping his foot lightly.

"Well said Mr. Wayne! Now, I would like everyone over this weekend to read over 200 pages. You Damian, you are exempt" He said, writing down the pages. Everyone whined and threw things at Damian. Calling him a 'Teachers pet' and other names. I groaned and slammed my head on the desk.

"Miss L/N, is there something wrong?" He asked, standing up. I looked up and frowned. "Yeah there is" I mumbled, sighing softly. "Would you like to say that to the principle?" He asked, tilting his head at me. He walked to my desk and smiled.

"No sir" I said, crossing my arms and leaning away from him. He grinned and walked away. "That's what I thought." He said, chuckling as he continued to talk about the assignment. "Its just 200 pages" Damian leaned over and whispered. I looked at him from the side of my eye, and frowned. "That's a lot Damian!" I whispered back, slightly whining.

"That's the fun part" he smirked and wrote down notes in his notebook. I rolled my eyes and went digging for my notebook in my bag. "Maybe for you" I mumbled, rubbing my eyes tiredly. He went back to taking notes on his papers, writing faster than I ever could.

The bell rang, making me look up. "Damian, Y/N, mind staying back for a bit?" The teacher said, sitting down at his desk. I threw my bag over my shoulder and walked over to him. "Yes sir?" I asked, fixing my strap as Damian stood next to me. "Damian, mind showing Y/N to her next class?" He asked, giving Damian a copy of my schedule.

"I suppose" He shrugged, taking it and giving it a quick glance. The teacher finally let us go after explaining the rules to me and everything. Me and Damian roamed the halls, looking for my next class, and when we did, we both just stared at the door and back at each other.

"Well I guess I have to leave you now" Damian mumbled, looking straight into my eyes. I nodded and began to turn the handle. "If you need help with the reading, just come to me" He said, handing me a copy. I smiled tiredly and took it gently. "Thanks" I said, opening the door
