Chapter 3: The Big Plan

It's 03:00 in the morning, Uzi is asleep in her room in her apartment. As her alarm beeps, she switches it off and begin her big plan. She gets up, gets her railgun, straightens her beanie, quietly gets the door master key and a few minutes later, she meets up with Carolynn(who snuck in through the vents) in the halls in front of the doors.

"You ready for this?" Uzi asks.
"Ready as I'll ever be." Carolynn responds.

Just as when Uzi beeps in the key to open Door 3, the duo are jumpscared by Uzi's dad, Khan.

"OH ROBOJESUS." The duo say in unison.
"And where do you think you two are off to..?" The mustached drone asks.
"Uhhhh... Sneaking out to make out with the boyfriend and girlfriend we definitley have..?" Carolynn lies.
"Caro, you're my best friend and all, but that was a terrible excuse." Uzi replies.
Khan laughs a for a bit before going back to a serious expression. "Seriously though."
"Okay, okay, you caught us. We just need to measure... The exterior hydraulic measurements of Door 1! Because that's our project for school..? A big ol' door! *in a cringey fake southern accent.* Just like what my old man built!" Uzi replies.
"Zi, that accent was terrible, but I guess that's karma for the bad excuse I made." Carolynn says.
"Yeah, sorry, I'm not doing that again." Uzi responds. "Anyways, We wanna join the WDF and hide behind the doors like cowards while playing cards and stuff!"
"Well, we don't just play cards!" Khan responds as Door 2 opens.
"Hey, Khan! Can you grab a fresh pack? We literally only play cards so much that the numbers have faded! Oh, Hey Uzi! Hi, Carolynn!" One of Khan's co-workers, Braxton said as Door 2 was open.
"Hi, Braxton." Carolynn responded as Door 2 shut.
"Well, when you make doors as good as these, there's no need to fight! This is great news! Carolynn, I want you to have this nut from Door 1's prototype that I turned into a necklace!" Khan happily says as he hands Carolynn a chain necklace with a large hex nut around it.
"Oh. Uhh... Thanks, Mr Doorman..?" She replies confused while putting the necklace on.
"And Uzi, here's the wrench I used to tighten bolts on my first door prototypes(And to put your mother out of her misery when the Murder Drones got to her with that Nanite Acid...), I want you to have it!" He happily says while handing his daughter the wrench.
"Uhhh, neat... Therapy's fun..." Uzi responds.

Khan opens Door 2 with delight with the two girls just standing behind him.
"Guys! My daughter and her friend are into doors!" He happily announces to his co-workers, who cheer and celebrate. He then opens Door 1 to let the duo go outside into the snowy, dark wastelands of Copper-9.
"They're gonna be outside for a bit to examine the exterior of Door 1! Go on, you two! Your door-specific destiny awaits!" Khan excitedly tells Uzi and Carolynn.
"Uhmmm... Wow, okay! We're just gonna leave then, because this worked so weirdly well, uh... Go doors!" Uzi responds awkwardly.
"Uh, yeah! What she said!" Carolynn replies.
"They grow up so fast..." Khan says while removing his magnetic mustache to wipe away his virtual tears while closing Door 1.

Uzi and Carolynn are now outside in the freezing wastes of the exoplanet. Just standing there for a bit.
"I can't believe that worked." Uzi says.
"Me neither." Carolynn replies. "But what are we waiting for? Let's get those parts!"
"Hell yeah!" Uzi responds as the duo runs off through the abandoned buildings, piles of scrap and frozen human skeletons, they were off to the Dissasembly Drone Corpse Spire.
