Higher Ground

A song says "My heart has no desire to stay,

Where doubts arise and fears dismay;

Though some may dwell where these abound,

My prayer, my aim, is higher ground"

We live in a world, where life is in a cycle. Sometimes we're on high, most of the times we feel under. That's how life in this world works. But I know we still want a life, that is higher and not temporary.

Well, God has good news.

Because we can desire a higher ground, where doubts and fears are not present anymore.

And if God is on higher ground, how can we get there?

Well there is this called, the bridge to life.

1 Timothy 2:5
"God is on one side and all the people on the other side."

Jesus Christ, who died on the cross for our sins is the way to God.

1 Timothy 2:5-6
"God is on one side and all the people on the other side, and Christ Jesus, Himself man, is between them to bring them together, by giving His life for all mankind."

People are totally separated from God, because we are not holy but He is. We sinned, and kept on sinning. That separates the human created from their creator.

Romans 3:23
"All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."

And this separation will lead to death and certain judgment. Everlasting destruction.

2 Thessalonians 1:8-9 "Those who do not know God... will be punised with everlasting destruction and shut out from the presence of the Lord."

Hebrews 9:27

"Man is destined to die once, and after that to face judgement."

But there is a solution.

1 Peter 3:18

"Christ died for sins once for all... to bring you to God."

There is a higher ground - but it is impossible to reach. - Because we are not connected to God in a spiritual manner because of sin. - But God created a way, a solution, and that is to send his only son Jesus here on earth to die and pay for our sins. - We didn't deserve His love, but He still loves us. And He showed that, when He chose to send His son, so that we can be with Him. In a place where doubts and fears don't have power over us anymore.

Romans 5:8

"But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us."

God loves you. Humans do things that are not pleasing to God. But still, He loves you, and me despite our imperfections. Humans were already separated from God, but He still made a way to reach you. He paid for you, with His son's life. That is the greatest love of all.

In Revelation 3:20
Jesus says, "Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will go in and eat with him, and he with Me."

Even though, Jesus already paid for our sins it doesn't mean that knowing it was enough. The salvation, Jesus gave was a gift. And it can only be in us, if we receive it. Every one must decide individually whether to receive Christ.

We need to accept Jesus as the Lord and Savior of our life, personally. So we won't face the punishment with everlasting destruction. That is the only way to God. To be with Him in Higher Ground.

If you invited Jesus Christ into your life, the Bible says you now have eternal life.

1 John 5:11-12
"God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life."

In summary; There is a Higher Ground, that God wants you to be with Him. And there is a bridge to get there, and that is Jesus. If we come to Him, confess our sins and make Him the Lord of our life.

So if you feel unworthy, down or distress. Don't let the world or the voices overwhelm the reality, that the creator of heaven and earth, who holds the million stars in heaven, loves you so much. And He values your life, He paid it with His own son's life.

You are worthy. You are loved. You are His masterpiece.
