Have you heard about 'Footprints in the Sand?', or the meaning behind it? Well, there's a lot of underlying meaning the phrase has. But what stuck me the most, was this one particular story behind it.
A man dreamt about two footprints in the sand, one belongs to the person and one from God. Along the way, when a crisis started to happen in his life, he noticed that there's only one pair of footprints. He thought that when he was in the lowest and saddest part of his life, God left him. That he was alone, through depression and anxiety.
So he asked God, "Lord, You told me when I decided to follow You, You would walk and talk with me all the way. But I'm aware that during the most troublesome times of my life there is only one set of footprints. I just don't understand why, when I need You most, You leave me."
But God answered him. "My precious child, I love you and will never leave you, never, ever, during your trials and testings. When you saw only one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you."
This story can be relatable to everyone. When we feel down, and alone, we conclude that maybe God was just watching us but he's not doing something. This is actually an encouragement to all of us, that when we are weak He is strong. When we feel alone and tired He is actually carrying us, when we feel hopeless He actually already made a solution.
Deuteronomy 31:6
"Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you."
He actually loves you so much, that whatever you've done, it can never change His mind about you.
