"JESSICA! I'm home!" I quickly pushed Nathan off the sofa and scrambled to the entry room. I heard a loud groan from behind me.
"Hey mom." I said breathless. "What took you so long? It's the middle of the night!"
"Oh I was just walking in the park. Just needed to think."
Something fell coming from the living room.
"Jess is someone here?"
"Uh yeah it's just my friend."
"Boyfriend?" She asked raising an eyebrow.
"Well he's a boy and he's my friend but it's not like that."
"Oh really? So tell me why he's in our house in the middle while there is no parental supervision?" I heard the anger grow in her voice. How could she possibly get upset over something this small?
"Yeah and I wonder why there was no parental supervision?" I began. "You think I don't notice that you haven't been home lately or that dad hasn't been either? Did you even realize that your YOUNGEST DAUGHTER RAN AWAY? Did you even care because I was never notified that she was gone." Mom's face fell.
"I... I thought she was in her room."
"Wait... WHAT." I couldn't believe this woman right now. "You didn't check up on her? What kind of mother are you?" My voice rising.
"Um Jessica I'm leaving." Nathan interrupted. I gave him a glare and dismissed him with a wave.
"You young lady will NOT talk to me in that manner."
"Do you think you deserve to be respected? Dammit Mom you don't even deserve to be called mother by me or Allison! I am so sick of you and dad fighting! I am just sick of this family okay?"
"Really? Fine you're free to leave!" Mom screamed and pointed to the door.
"Oh so you're kicking me out?"
"If you are determined to behave this way I think I have to."
"So you think I am the problem here huh? You think kicking me out will solve all the problems. Well guess what you'll see that I am not the problem." I gave her one last glance before running upstairs to grab my stuff.
I ran out the door once grabbing a bag with my necessities. I don't even know where I am supposed to go in the middle of the night. I found a bench in the sidewalk and sat down.
What the hell is going on in my life? How screwed am I?
I felt a cold breeze pass me. Goosebumps on my arm rose. I wish I had superpowers sometimes and then I would never feel cold because I could always heat myself up with my fire power. Or would I even feel cold if I had the fire within me?
I stared down at my hands.
What if I did have superpowers?
No, it wasn't even possible. This is real life Jessica you need to get over your silly fantasies.
I looked back at my plain empty hands; imagining my hands erupting in flames yet not burning my hands to a crisp.Immediate pain filled through my body I could've help the cry that escaped my mouth. The street became dark as the street lights flickered off. That's strange they ever turn off Or so I thought.
The pain developing in my body became overwhelming.
Then it all went black
