Richie stood in the corridor as everyone else hurried to their next class, but he didn't care about that, in fact, being late was one of his last problems.
He stared at the pamphlet hanged in the wall, one of the many that had been dispersed in his school over the afternoon.
'Snowball dance' was written in the paper, with light blue shades followed by all the information needed. Richie knew this day would come, and still he had no idea what to do, his internal conflict consuming him as he was the only person in the empty hall.
No matter how hard he tried, he couldn't stop thinking about Eddie Kasbrahab, his best friend, who had lately been screwing with Richie's mind. The curly haired boy found himself thinking non-stopped about Eddie.
At first when he realized his feelings towards Eddie weren't platonic, he just thought of it as a stupid crush, one that wouldn't even last a week. But what he thought it was just that, it turned out to be something way bigger and stronger, something he couldn't even handle himself.
Richie wanted to go with Eddie to the dance. Richie had screwed up. Badly.
Suddenly a hand pressed against his shoulder snapped him out of is thoughts bringing him back to reality.
"Woah, you ok?" Eddie exclaimed trying to calm down Richie, who had literally jumped because of the touch."Geez Eddie you scared the living shit out of me" he told him trying to catch his breath.
"Where were you? Mrs. Lane sent me to look for you cause you didn't show up, and if you think you can just skip. class and leave me alone in english with that bitch then you are crazy" Eddie told Richie refering to Mrs. Lane.
"Sorry, I had to take my books" he said pointing at the locker next to him.
"... You do realize that isn't your locker right?" he asked Richie raising an eyebrow, who nervously laughed as they headed to get his books.
"Soooo, you heard about the dance Eds?" Richie introduced the subject as if it wasn't that big of a deal (spoiler: it was).
"How couldn't I, they've posted signs everywere, there's this gigantic banner in the cafeteria and people have started to ask everyone out in the most chessy and exagerated way" Richie panicked at that "I mean I guess it's cool that this school takes something seriously for once but it's a bit early considering we still have a month" Richie slowly nodded taking his books out.
They knocked at the door and passed, Richie recieved a death glare from Mrs. Lane as he sat down next to Eddie. He spent the rest of the class passing notes to Eddie and drawing on his hand.
Finally the bell rang and the two boys got out of the building as fast as they could where the rest of the losers were waiting.
The group started walking sharing stories and planning to met that same afternoon. Beberly and Richie distanced from the group lighting a cigarette to avoid Eddie's familiar talk about how they'll both get cancer in 5 years if they keep smoking
"So, finally got the balls to ask Eddie to the dance?" Beberly asked him with a smirk.
"Finally got the balls to ask Ben to the dance?" he asked her handing the cigarette.
"Touché Tozier, touché" Beberly answered proud of Richie's comeback. They both chuckled and followed the rest, who by what they had heard, were going to the barrens.
The Losers layed down in the grass watching the sky.
"That cloud looks like a robin" Stan pointed out.
"That cloud looks like Eddie's mom vagina" Richie shouted loud enough to make everyone burst into laughter, except Eddie, he knogded his shoulder and threw him some grass and dirt to his face.
"Asshole" Eddie rambled as the both boys quarreled. Eddie ended up on top of Richie gripping with his hands the curly haired boy's wrist against the grass.
"I win" Eddie cheered as a few of hair strands covered his face, Richie noticed this and turned bright red unable to formulate a word. Eddie sat down hand started braiding Richie's black hair, they could stay in that position forever.
"W-we should get g-going it's getting late" Bill announced as he carefully shook Stans head wich was laying on his chest with a smile.

"Look him just stating facts" Eddie explained, him and Richie were having a very serious discusion."How could you say Star Trek is better than Star Wars??" he asked him shoked while they were on their way to Eddie's house
"I'm just saying nothing beats a classic, Star Wars is good but Star Trek is just better" The freckled boy kept defending his favourite movie series, Richie couldn't really focus because he had just discovered Eddie slightly flinched his nose every time someone contradicted him, wich he found adorable and instead of following the conversation he just smiled like an idiot.
They arrived to Eddies and stood in the porch
"Are you sure you don't want to stay over?" Eddie asked while he adjusted Richies scarf sofly smiling.
"I can't today, sorry Eds" he watched as Eddie waved him a last goodbye and entered the house with a sad expression on his face.
