Story Summary: A dog with unusual gifts helps bring a sense of wonder to the owner and to the people on the Oregon coast, who are coping with the complexities of living in a troubled world.

It is in the forest surrounded by the wilderness on the central Oregon coast. A woman has moved 900 miles to start a new life and escape a troubled life elsewhere. The woman writes a journal. Gradually she becomes involved with writing creative fantasy stories.

The stories are inspired by her dog, and by the animals and nature of the Oregon coast. As the novel progresses, she rediscovers a sense of wonder and finds love, peace and joy.

Logline: Myths, Lore and Legends of the Mystic Beaches and Forests on the Oregon Coast, celebrating the wonder of animals and nature, featuring a time-traveling poet and her Mystical Creature on the Oregon coast.

if you have traveled where I have gone.

One of the gifts it gave to me is an active imagination, an ability to exaggerate, and flows of ideas.

This comes with strengths but also with vulnerabilities.

The stories emerge from the subconscious the way life is experienced, in fragments, yet cohesive beneath the surface.

When the deep mind is open this way, unlocked, unmasked, it is less protected.

Stories emerge, braided together or like a collage - past and present - interior and exterior - images and memories.

A creative structure that reflects how life is really experienced.

Different from traditional story plot arcs and formulas. Unorthodox to some.

The intuitive, braided structure of storytelling.

Very different from the Journalism inverted pyramid style that I learned in college, with important facts at the top, then in diminishing order so the article could be cut farther down if needed.
