"Hey little buddy, how are you doing?" Owen said to Noah, as he jumped from surprise. He hadn't even noticed Owen approching him. Owen was one of Noah's closest friends, as they had known eachother from childhood. They're the type of friends who don't work in theory, but do in practice, due to their different personalities. They used to walk home together, but these days, Owen often oversleeps or spends too much time eating breakfast.

"Hey Owen, long time no see" Owen sighed "Yeah, I overslept again, but I caught you this time buddy! Wanna walk to school together?" Noah smiled faintly, "Sure, why not?" Noah kept on walking and the big guy kept up surprisingly well, as they approached the gate the streets began to fill with the other students "Have you joined any clubs yet, buddy?" Owen asked 'Bold of you to assume I'd be interested in any...' "No, I haven't, why?" "Oh well..." Noah didn't like where this was going "...I kinda joined a club as the vice-president and I was wondering if you'd like to join?" Noah sighed "Look Owen, I'd love to, but I'm kind of too lazy to join any so..." "But they're going to be mandatory soon! And it's a literature club! Don't you spend all your time reading? Please?" Noah didn't even know he liked literature. He was pretty sure he only wanted to start a new club, and since he joined 2nd he had the title of Vicepresident "Fine... I'll stop by... But don't expect me to put in too many effort..." "Yes! A new member! Thanks buddy!" Owen ran off "Wait! I never- ugh, fine..." 'What did I just get myself into?'

The school day was as boring as ever, and it was over before Noah even noticed, he was ready to get going home until "Noah! Let's go! You said you'd go check out the literature club" Oh yeah, that... He had completely forgotten. Noah looked around the classroom and realized that he was the only one left "Uhh sure. Let's go"

"Are you sure that I'm the kind of person they're looking for? I'm not the most... err... motivated person?"

"They'll like you!" Owen paused "Alright! We're here!" Noah opened the door only to find 3 people sitting down, he opened his mouth, ready to say something, but Owen beat him to it "Hey guys! I brought a new member" he yelled "Owen It's not official if I'll-"

"Oh you're Noah right? Owen always talks about you" a black haired girl interrupted. She seemed annoyed, maybe she was too indulged in her book.

"Seriously? Man, I thought you were gonna bring a girl... maybe I could have gotten a girlfriend" another boy complained. Noah was sure he had seen him before in the hallway, but by his small frame and childish face, he always assumed he was a 1st year, not that he could talk...

"Ah, what a nice surprise Noah!" Oh, It's him...

"Oh, you guys already knew eachother?" Owen asked "Yes..." 'unfortunately...'

Last year, Noah and Alejandro were in the same class. Everyone treated Al like he was a god on earth, but Noah never got the appeal and found him pretty annoying. To top it all off, Alejandro sort of had this one-sided petty rivalry with Noah, everytime they got an exam back, he rushed to see Noah's grade, and when he had a score higher than him (which only happened like twice) Alejandro smiled like he had been handed a million dollars. At first, it was no big dea, then it was starting to get annoying. Noah noticed that he took the rivalry very seriously, and when he saw that Noah was top of their class instead of him, he looked like he had just hit not by a wave, but by a tsunami of dread.

"It's nice to see you again, amigo!" Alejandro offered Noah a handshake, which he accepted against his will.

"I should probably introduce you to the rest of the club, huh?" Owen said in the middle of the handshake. "Sure"
