The Visit

Beck and Jade are together in Beck's car on their way to an expensive and fancy restaurant. Beck's phone rings. "Your phone rings." Says Jade annoyed knowing her boyfriend heard the noise "I know." Says Beck confused and he takes his phone out of his pocket "Oh I got a text." Continued Beck "From who?" Asks Jade while leaning over so she can look on the screen "By the way Beck you're not supposed to use your phone in the car." Says Jade annoyed "I know that's why I'm parking my car now." Says Beck annoyed knowing Jade is in a bad mood "It's from my aunt." Says the boy "And what does she say?" "That she wants me to come over." "Ugh you're saying "no" I hope." "We'll only stay there for a few minutes." "But if we come over we'll get late at the restaurant." "No we won't, I haven't reserved and it is a huge restaurant so whatever happens there'll still be place for us whatever the time is that we come." "Why does she actually wants us to come?" "She bought a dog or something today." "But isn't it kinda late?" "It's only 7:50 pm" Jade sighed "But I hate having your family around." Beck started the car again and continued driving "What's wrong with my family?" "They're just annoying." "Okay see it like this, if someday we'll get married I will invite my family to the wedding and you'll have to be with 'em the whole day, so do you rather do something fun with me and hang out with my family or do you rather don't have me and don't hang out with my family." Jade was thinking for some minutes "Come on it shouldn't be that hard." Said Beck after a while "Well than probably the first suggestion but who says it'll be fun and who says we're gonna get married?" "Oh so you don't wanna stay with me forever?" Asked Beck smily "That's not what I said." "Oh isn't it?" "I'm just saying not a lot of "high school" relationships continue after graduation." "Also not a lot of high school relationships stay for 4 years." "3 years and 9 months." "What?" "We've been dating for 3 years and 9 months minus the break up will not even lead us to 3 years and a half." Beck sighed "You wanna break up or something?" "What?! Why?! No!!" "Then don't sound so depressed when you're talking." Jade sighed "By the way, wanna get married in Hawaii?" "Why Hawaii?" "Oh no reason." Jade looked away "So you can threw annoying people in volcanos?" "Well it's convenient." Beck sighed "Oh and also you'll have to wear white." "Why?" Asked Beck confused "Because if we both wear black we'll look weird." "Who says you're gonna wear black and not me?" "Me." Beck stopped his car "Two seconds." Did he say and Jade looked confused. Beck pressed the bell and waited for an answer of his aunt through the intercom. "Hello." Said his aunt "Hey it's Beck can you open the gate please?" "Sure sweetie." "Thanks." Jade rolled eyes and the gate opened. Beck parked his car in the driveway "Kinda weird how we've just been planing our wedding." Said Beck smiling "Well we didn't really agree." "I know so think fast 'cause who knows when we really gotta make those decisions." Jade rolled eyes again but this time she smiled at the same time, she leaned over to her boyfriend and kissed him. After a while Beck asked "You're gonna look happy now?" "Try too." Beck smiled.

In the house a man, Beck's aunt's husband, looked threw the window at the couple that was walking to their front door. "Who's that dark girl with Beck?" Asked the man to his wife "Oh, I think that's his girlfriend." "You've met her before." "No." "Well they haven't probably been dating for long." "Oh yes they have, for almost 4 years." "Oh, have they?" The bell rang so the woman fast ran to her front door. "Hello Beck." Did she say happily "Hello." She kissed his cheek "So you must be Jade?" Did she ask to the girl "Hum yes I am." Said Jade trying to be nice "Come in." Did the woman say to the couple "Hey Max." Said Beck to his uncle "So you're Jade?" Asked the man to the girl "Hum yes I am. Why?" Said Jade suspicious "What is your last name?" "West." "Can you tell me a little about your father?" "Hum sure... Hum... Let's see... He's cold, judgmental, doesn't understand creative people, hates everything I do, basically hates me, is divorced, has got a new wife, gets fired a lot altho he's been working at a hotel for quite a while." "What hotel?" "Hum... I forgot the name... But it's somewhere in San Diego." "What's his job there?" "He does all the checking ins of the hotel in the summer, he also lives there in the summer with his wife I don't know why and my mother always forces me every summer since they got divorced when I was four to go there for a whole week." "But... Hum... Why do you wanna know so much about Jade and her father?" Asked Beck "Because... I know Jade." Said the man and everyone was looking surprised "You know Jade?" Asked Beck "Yes I do." "How?!" Asked Jade "Because I come every summer to that hotel and every summer since you're 4 years old, I see you standing there in the lobby next to your father's desk fighting with him." "Oh my god." Said Jade totally surprised "And..." Started the man and everyone was listening carefully "... One year my wife and I brought with us Beck and his cousins." "What?!" Said the couple at the same time "And you've played together." "How old were we?" Asked Beck "Both seven years old." The couple had their mouth wide open of surprise. "Come sit here next to me on the couch and I'll tell you exactly what happened and maybe you will remember." Beck sat down on the couch and Jade sat down on Beck's lap. And like two little children they started listening carefully to Beck's uncle's story.
