"Callum, we're ready when you are." "Okay." "Callum, if you don't-" "Rayla, I'm fine."

As Callum gripped the pearl, time passed.

one second.

two seconds.

three seconds.

4 sec-and then it flashed.

The pearl was no illuminated, and this time it scared Rayla. She remembered the last time. She gulped.

"..Callum...." he heard his mesmerizing voice say. "Give. In."

And it started again. The choking, the shaky breathing, and finally his head fell.

"No" Rayla whispered turning away.

"Don't do this again" Rayla mumbled, a tear streaming down her face.

"Look and see what he has to say, I promise it will be worth it" Aaravos somehow whispered in her ear.

She turned as his pitch-black eyes stared into her soul, her shimmering violet eyes almost being sucked in as the black was drowned out by white with a blue and purple aura.

The deep laugh echoed in her ears.

"Zubiea's champions" he said, not releasing the pearl.

Callum's eyes flashed green as he spoke. "He's going through my-"

"Oh, I'm impressed young elf! You cut off Claudia's leg? It may not be killing, but you are well on your way."

"I'm even proud! You did it just to keep me imprisoned!"

"Oh, you are here judging me? How ironic! it's evil when I chose my means to escape, but when your mage did, it didn't matter because he did it in the 'name of love'. "

"What are you talkin about, Aaravos?" Rayla asked. "Oh, you didn't tell her? How funny," he strode closer to her, walking behind her, "you never wondered how he got free when he saved you from the leviathan?" he asked, twisting her now-out hair as white stared into violet eyes. "Let me show you" he said, and he put two fingers to the side of her neck and her eyes rolled to the back of her head.

She immediately saw Callum doing dark magic and seeing him once again save her from death.

"He did it for you, how sweet" he said. "Say it, young mage. Tell her that you apologize, or does he?"

"Is it true?" Rayla asked. Callum went silent.

"CALLUM IS HE TELLING ME THE TRUTH!?"

She turned, snifling slightly. "How sad, he betrayed your trust."

She looked Callum...no, Aaravos, in the eyes as he leaned into her ear and whispered in a deep voice as she looked him in the eyes.

"You wouldn't..."

"Watch me. Oh the brilliance! The ship captain threatened him with you, and just like that, he snaps! Oh, I love it! He's willing to do anything for you, even abandon his morals."

He lifted the pearl.

"Since you are so brave and courageous, little one, I will share some of my wisdom with you."

Soren placed a hand on his sword, ready to defend Rayla. "No worries, failed son, I do not intend to hurt her."

He lifted her head with a smirk.

"Trust and pearls are alike. They both take so so long to create, but shatter under the slightest pressure."

He drew a rune and clenched his fist as she stopped breathing.

a second passed.

two seconds passed.

10 seconds passed.

Soon enough, Aaravos looked Rayla in the eyes, her eyes shimmering in the illuminated room.

"Oops" he said as he dropped the pearl and everyone was blasted unconscious, except...Rayla.

"How fun this has been!"

Aaravos said casting a star spell in his renewed power.

As he pulled Rayla closer to him, her eyes slightly teared up.

"You see, little one, emotions are so, complicated. Complex. No one understands them. So they make you weak."

"I would take you with me, but I need to gain more control over your mind."

"And I can't have you telling anyone about this. Oblivisci et somnum" he said, lifting her fragile head and putting a hand on the side of her neck, allowing her to fall unconscious.
