The Out-Break

Surviving

~~~ 3 weeks after the apocalypse started~~~

~~Nadia's POV~~

Quiet patter feet hit the ground as two people could be seen speed walking. With bags full of supplies they have gotten from their short run, Elizabeth River and Nadia Jackson slowly and quietly ran back to their apartment that they have been surviving in since the start of this hell hole. 

As soon as we rounded the corner to get to our apartment we saw about a half a dozen walkers and from what I could see there were more coming "We need to get out of here....now" I said as we pushed are way threw the walkers to get to are door and then ran threw are door slamming it shut panting.

"We need to get out of here now" Elizabeth yelled as she latched the door shut so walkers couldn't get in. "Yea, you grab everything you can from your room I'll get my stuff and we'll meet in the kitchen to get all the food we can carry. "Got it." Elizabeth said as she started walking to her room as I walked to mine. 

I grabbed all the clothes that would fit in my small bag, my bow and extra arrows, and knives. Stuck 1 of my guns in my shoulder holster and my big knife in my thigh holster and headed out to our small kitchen. When I got there I saw Elizabeth shoving as many cans as she could in another duffel bag . 

"Did you get everything?" Elizabeth asked once she noticed me standing there. "Yea, did you get all your stuff?" I asked as I walked closer to her "Yes, now lets get the hell out of here." Elizabeth said as she picked up her bag

We were just about to open the door when I realized we didn't know where we were gonna go. "Wait, where are we gonna go?" I whisper yelled as she had her hand on the door knob. "Shit, I forgot about that. Wait what about the hospital, they have medical stuff there we could stock up before we leave the city." Elizabeth said as she turned to me letting go of the door knob. "Okay, we will try. Open the door on the count of 3 then we run......1.........2......3........GO" I yelled as she opened the door and we ran as fast as we could to the parking garage where our bikes were. 

When we got to the parking garage, 5 to 6 walkers were spotted which halted our run. I quickly pulled Elizabeth behind a wall. As we hear the growls of the dead, my breathing quickens. I look Elizabeth in the eyes and whisper, "I take 3 on the left and you take the rest" Elizabeth slowly nods her head. 

I jumped out from behind the wall and snuck up behind them and whistled as Elizabeth ran up and stabbed 3 of them in the head, which caused the last three to be distracted which game me just enough time to kill them.

As i busied thinking, without realizing, another walker came upon behind me. A sudden attack that I wasn't aware of. I miscommunication how many walkers were in the garage. "Arg!" I fell to the ground with the walker right behind. Keeping my forearm to the neck to keep its mouth from me, I struggled. My knife fell out of my pocket away from me. Elizabeth quickly realized the problem and quickly tries to rush to help. "Naomi! Hold on," she shouted. My other unoccupied hand quickly reached out to the knife that lays a few inches from me. I struggled to reach my knife while still keeping a hold on the walker just as it was about to bite my neck, Elizabeth came up behind it ripped off of me and stabbed it through the neck.

"Thank you." I said as panted while pushing myself off of the ground. "Your welcome, now lets get the hell out of here before more shows up." Elizabeth said as she grabbed our bags and kept walking toward our bikes. 

Elizabeth and I each put one bag on our backs and the food one on hers. "Do you know how to get to the hospital from here?" Elizabeth asked as we started up our engines. "Yes follow me" I said as we took off out of the parting garage and towards the hospital where hopeful we'll have better luck and maybe find more people.
