How many times could he repeat this cycle? From answering phones to delivering materials across the different departments within Hell's Castle.

Surely, he'd eventually grow bored of the repetition which constituted his job.

That's originally what he thought, but the fact the Monarch had grown so reliant on the young vampiric bat filled him with a sense of joy...

Knowing that someone so powerful needed him to be at their every beck and call...

Moreover, the loud shouts and such of the white-haired demon Dain would encounter from time to time added some break in his usual routine.

Loculus Ukufa was such an odd specimen when compared to all the other demons Dain had encountered in his years. He was so booming, so eccentric...every other demon within the punishment department was the opposite of the young white-haired demon.

More often than not, Dain would make a comment about how loud Loculus was, only getting a loud laugh in return.

The Monarch seemingly wasn't that interested in Loculus either, giving him the cold shoulder at most times, regardless of if he said something worthwhile or not.

Dain would repeat whatever the demon said, and only then would she pay attention to what was said.

Dain didn't find it very fair...How she wouldn't pay attention to the demon...Despite the fact he always did his job...

Though Dain knew it wasn't her place to say anything, especially not to the Monarch of all people. Dain had his own job to do...nothing could distract the vampire from doing it.

He feared any sort of distraction would lead to him losing the very reason he was alive...

"Dain..." The Monarch's voice pulled the vampire from his thoughts, causing him to look up from the ringing phone in front of him, "The phone is ringing, little one," She chuckled. Glancing at the phone before she carefully picked it up.

"You've reached the Monarch's castle. How may I be of service to you?" Dain asked.

"Dain." A voice from the other end of the line said, a demon from another department, no doubt. That's the only way they could've known his name, "Dain the Monarch needs to do something about the parade going on outside. People are screaming and getting hurt because there are no barricades." They sighed.

Dain gave a nod, "I will let her know right now. Thank you for informing me," she said before hanging up the phone.

The Monarch crouched down next to the vampire, a small smile grazing her lips.

"What's the matter, my dear?" She questioned, placing a large hand on the back of the chair where Dain sat, "What was the call about?"

"They said...Something needs to be done about the parade outside, there are no barricades set up, and as such, people are getting injured," Dain explained. The Monarch sighed at the information before nodding her head.

"Alright...I'll figure out something to do," She hummed, raising to her full height. Dain took a moment to admire her, staring in wonder at her height.

"Please, be careful," Dain said, watching as she walked out of the room, leaving him to let his eyes linger on where her form once was.

Despite being young, Dain had a mountain of work placed on her shoulders, a burden she carried alone. It didn't bother him that much, knowing how much the Monarch entrusted the young vampire bat with such work that he could so diligently do no matter what.

But sometimes...He wished he could live a little and see the world more...maybe if she wasn't constantly hauled up in the castle, then she could've gone with the Monarch and helped her figure out what was ideal when it came to situations like these.
