AMARA
"Never would've thought you had any interest in helping out another person besides yourself." Hope said.
I smiled sarcastically, "Really? That's funny because how many times did, I help you with anything, anytime you ever asked?"
Hope didn't reply.
I bit my lip and nodded with a smile on my face. "And your silent now? That's cute." I said, moving to walk ahead of Hope and towards Landon.
But the tug on my wrist stopped me in my tracks.
I turned towards Hope with a scowl on my face. "What."
"I will not let you mess with the chances of Landon staying here. If you try anything Amara, I swear to god that-"
"Ladies." Emma said, approaching us.
Hope pursed her lips together and dropped my wrist, turning around and greeting Emma with a smile on her face.
"Aren't you supposed to be chaperoning Landon Kirby's testing?" She asked us.
"Yeah." Hope said.
"We were just about to go and set up the next course." I said.
Emma nodded and smiled before walking away.
I didn't look at Hope as I walked away, muttering "Hurry up."

"I can't do it." Landon panted, bent over with his hands on his knees as he caught his breath.
"All you were asked to do was climb the bridge." I scowled, watching as Hope opened her mouth to say something probably positive.
"Its like 100 feet tall!" Landon said, pointing towards the bridge. "And the only way to climb it is to stand in the water! The current is going like 1000 miles per hour." He said.
I rolled my eyes.
"Your doing good." Hope said with a soft smile, nodding her head encouragingly.
"No he's not." I snorted, showing Landon the clip board. "He's gotten zero points."
"That is not fair." Landon said pointedly.
"How." I turned towards him.
Hope rolled her eyes and put her hand on his arm. "It doesn't matter. Lets just move on to the next part."
I watched as they walked away to the other part of the field.
I sighed and dropped the clip board on the ground and lay down on the grass.
"Amara, are you coming?" Landon yelled.
"Maybe when you zip your pants up!" I yelled back, closing my eyes, letting my hands rest on the side of my body.
I heard Hope hold back a snort, hearing some commotion on Landon's end as he probably realized I was right, and that his pants were actually unzipped.
A few minutes go by as I hear Hope helping Landon with the next part of the testing.
I hear soft footsteps next to me making me open my eyes.
"Can I sit?" Hope hesitantly asked.
"Yeah." I muttered, closing my eyes again, feeling her take a seat beside me, looking at the flowers that surrounded us.
"So what were you saying earlier? About what you were going to do if I missed up the chances of your boyfriend going here?" I asked.
Hope sighed and tensed up. "I'm sorry... I just want his chances to get into this school, to be fair. And he's not my boyfriend."
I nodded with a chuckle. "Do not talk to me like that ever again." I said, looking at her.
She nodded. "I got it."
I scoffed and sat up, not looking at her. "You get that none of this is fair, right?" I said.
"What do you mean?" She said, looking at me confused.
"This." I said.
"I don't know what you mean." Hope said.
I shook my head and started to stand up when Hope wrapped her hand around my wrist. "Wait." she sighed.
I slowly sat back down, watching as she took a few seconds before speaking again.
"I'm sorry." She said before slowly speaking again.
"I think its time for me to tell you about what the feeling was." She whispered.
I nodded.
She sighed before looking over to where Landon was training, making sure he wasn't looking.
He wasn't. He was too busy falling off the roof of a gazebo.
"You were my best friend. For a long time." She said, staring into my eyes. "You were always there for me. No matter what I was feeling. I was never scared to talk to you about how I felt, or why, or anything like that."
I nodded.
"But this time, I just couldn't tell you what I was feeling." She said.
"Why?" I asked, confusion written all over my face I'm sure.
"One day, I woke up and it felt like a normal day. I woke up, got dressed and went to breakfast, looking for you. But when I walked into the cafeteria and saw you sitting with Josie-"
"Was it Josie? Did something happ-"
"No. It wasn't Josie. It was, okay.. it was you, Amara." She softly said.
I furrowed my eyebrows. "What?" I asked.
"You were wearing your hair up, and I-I saw a hickey on your neck. And I just knew that you had spent the night with Josie. I got so jealous." She said.
"What? Why?" I said.
She lifted her hand up and placed it on my cheek, rubbing her thumb on my face.
"Every day that I knew you, hurt more than the last because every day, every day that I saw you, I fell more and more in love."
