Third person pov
As Anastasia walk to the distance to the district square, she observed the weeping parents clutching their Children for dear life, the small twelve year olds nervously make their way to the lines, she watched the 18 year old try to calm themselves down by reassuring themselves this was their last. She however was quite scared herself, if she was reaped their would be no one for her precious furry companions and it's not like she was a fighter, the most she could do was climb, though that hadn't sunk into until this moment.
As she approached the peacekeeper signing in her age group she started to panic, but she kept reminding herself to breath.
"Hand" the peacekeeper said nonchalantly as he held his hand out. Ana slowly lifted her hand, the peacekeeper grasped her arm and pricked her finger, dabbing the blood into the page. Ana was sent to the section for her age, as she stood nervously playing with her finger, a voice rung through the air.
"Good afternoon everyone and welcome to the reaping of the 74th hunger games" a tall colourful woman said into the microphone.
" My name of lilac and I shall be distinct 11 representative this year"
The woman matched her name, fully decked out in the colour of her namesake, even her hair was lilac.
"Now for district 11 tributes, gentlemen first hmm " lilac said as she reached into the glass bowl full of names. She delicately plucked a paper and pulled it out of the bowl, she unfolded the paper and said "Thresh Morrowson". Head turned in the direction of the 18 year old males, a tall boy walked toward the purple woman, looking angry, Ana felt pity toward the boy, this would have been his last reaping the he would be free.
"A handsome young man, now the ladies" lilac states. She reaches into the other bowl and digs for a paper, once she satisfied she pulls her hand out and reads the name.
"Anastasia brooks"
Ana's heart stops.
