Jungkook didn't sleep; he kept calling for his Angel, though the King kept ignoring him.The spring hot bath filled the huge bathing room with fog, where the King relaxed his whole body, sinking deep into the green, minty, and blossom-scented water.
Where are you, Jin?
Please talk to me!
We need to talk!
He heard that, but responding was the last thing the King would do. He wanted the bearer to rest, ease his mind, and forget the trauma — even if just for a while. But that wasn’t going to happen while the Bearer kept calling him out to show up and speak. And what more could he do? He kept hearing him, like a constant whisper in his mind.
Just answer me...
I just want to hear you...
Your voice...
The King sighed.—
"Jungwah, you need to rest. Just do that for me."
Hearing the voice he longed to hear made Jungkook stand up from sitting on the side of the bed.
"Please, Jin, or King, or Seo — whatever they call you here... Please talk to me. I'm not tired! I don't want to rest! I just want you—"
He stopped, then the King spoke again.
"You want me?"
"No! I mean... I want to see you. That's all. I want you ... because..."
Before he could finish the sentence, the King appeared in front of him.
"Because what, Jungwah? Tell me."
Seeing the King walk slowly toward him made Jungkook swallow hard.
"You're talking?..."
Now Jungkook saw the King speaking with his mouth.
"I am."
Still walking closer to him, each step brought the King into clearer focus. He wore a simple, thin hanbok — it looked more like a very thin silk bathrobe. Plain and white.
Jungkook couldn't help but glance, his eyes drawn toward the middle of the King's body.
Oh, damn!
"Jungwah?"
But what was so embarrassing was that the man could easily read his thoughts.
"W-What?!"
Oh shit! Jungkook, stop! He can hear you!
"Of course, I can hear you, Jungwah."
The King stopped right in front of the younger man, his eyes staring straight at him.
"Calm down. I will not do anything harmful. Now speak. Tell me, why do you want to see me?"
Hearing the calmness in his voice somehow relaxed Jungkook.
"It's the first time I’ve heard your voice... I mean, with your mouth... You’re talking to me with your beautiful voice, Jin."
"Does it make a difference, Jungwah?"
Jungkook nodded and looked him straight in the eye.
I don’t know... It makes my heart beat faster. It's makes you more—
RealisticThe King couldn’t suppress a smile. Jungkook didn’t even notice that the King was still hearing his thoughts.
"Yeah! Of course! You've been talking to me telepathically... It's all something new, Jin!"
