Two months before the first snowfall, Hoseok goes through the hardest thing he's ever faced in life. A break up with the man he thought he would always spend his life with and to be left crying on the kitchen floor as all he knew walked out that doo...
"Jimin please tell me what I did wrong! We can fix this! Please just tell me. Whatever it is I promise it we can get through it! Please!" Hobi pleaded, his face stained with tears and fear in his eyes. His cheeks and ears bright red from all the crying he'd been doing. He held onto the end of his boyfriend's jacket, wishing he'd turn around to look at him and explain what was going on. Jimin was at the door, hand on the doorknob, his eyes dark and cloudy as if contemplating the choice he was about to make.
"Please don't just leave like this" Hobi pleaded once more, now practically on his knees. It was a pathetic attempt but he didn't care. He was beyond reasoning with. All he cared about at this very moment was what was before him and not losing it. But that wasn't the case for Jimin.
He turned to face Hobi, his eyes still dark but showing maybe just a twinge of guilt, no longer filled with the love and soft, gentle feeling they used to give Hobi. This was a look Hobi had never seen before even after 3 years of being together. He grabbed Hobi's trembling hand that had gripped the end of his jacket and pried it free. With each finger pried open, Hobi could feel his heart dropping like a rock. This couldn't be happening.
Jimin reached into his jacket pocket and pulled out the apartment keys. Their keys. A soft greet Pom Pom dangled in between the keys. A present Hobi had gotten him on their very first anniversary. He looked down at them with such an intense look they could have melted under his gaze all the while his other hand gripping the door handle. Silence filled the empty space between them as Hobi sat on the floor, his tears never ceasing. Time almost seemed to stand still.
Finally, after what seemed like minutes Jimin gave a low sigh and snapped his gaze away from the keys. " I just don't want you anymore" With a quick flick of his wrist, he tossed the keys to the floor beside where Hobi sat.
The words were harsh and so cold as they left Jimin's tongue and rang through Hobi's ears. He couldn't even respond as he watched the only man he had ever loved walk out and disappear, slamming the door to leave him in a shocked state.
He remained on the floor, staring at the door, his thoughts racing and praying, hoping it was some sick joke or perhaps even a nightmare and that Jimin would come back. He could feel his heart breaking into a million pieces with every second that passed and everything was reeling.
With a trembling hand he reached next to him and curled his fingers around the set of keys and he slowly ran his thumb over the soft Pom Pom attached and suddenly it became too much to take. The tears came down heavier and faster now until he was gasping for air as the sobs ripped through his body. Somehow his cries turned into screams of anguish and it all fell over him like waves. His whole world that he had known until just now....had crashed and shattered. Nothing he knew would ever be the same.
