"Y/N! The exit is right there! Leave!" Lilah screams as you frantically attempt to pack her leg wound from a fallen beam.
"I- I can't Lilah.! We- we need to get you out of here." You cry and try to lift the heavy beam off of her again.
"You have to Y/N. I'll be okay. You need to go! Go!" She pushes you off of her and winces.
You turn your head around to look at the door, surrounded in flames.
"Lilah," You look at her.
"Go." She blinks back the tears and looks up.

"What does this mean?" Derek squeezes your hand and takes a deep breath.
"What?" You say, in attempt to change the subject.
"Y/N," He has a look of vulnerability in his eyes, expecting you to get it.
"I'm a first year. You're an attending. It doesn't work. It doesn't 'fit'. I just,- I can't," You breathe.
He stares at you for a second, his gaze softening even more. "We can make it work." He grabs your other hand and rests his forehead against yours. "We will make it work. Just us." He softly says.
You start to give in before recollecting your thoughts and letting go of his hands. "I.. I have to go, I'm sorry."
Tenderly, your hand grazes his cheek, a fleeting connection before you walk across the rain-soaked parking lot. A tear escapes, traced by your fingertips. Seated in your car, hands press against your forehead, a reflection on the past hour.
————————-When you get to your apartment, you see a big red sticker plastered against your door:
EVICTION NOTICE
Dammit. Dammit!
You rip the paper off your door and walk into your apartment to sit on the couch. You kick off your shoes, pull out your phone and dial Izzie's number.
You hear a soft, tired voice answer. "Hey girl. What's up?"
"I'm being evicted from my freaking apartment Izzie." You speak with an angered tone.
"Oh my god." She responds.
"Yeah." You sigh.
"I can ask Mer if you can crash here until you find your own place? It's pretty much a frat house anyway." She giggles.
"You would do that for me?"
"Of course. I'm gonna go to sleep now. Night." She yawns and hangs up.
You sink into the couch, eyes fixed on the ceiling, Slowly, the weight of fatigue creeps in, and with a soft surrender, your eyelids close, falling asleep.
————————————————-
You wake up, emotions from yesterday still lingering. The room feels heavy. Sitting up, you rub your eyes. You turn your head to see the clock on the wall.
