There I lay many a night
My eyes open and bright
seeing with some unseeing sight
in the hopes I might see the morning light.
My hand crushed beside me
my heart fluttering like the wings of a bee
a rhythm only they can see
that beats alone inside me.
My breath rattles in my lungs
winds rushing to be sung
in some long forgotten song.
It's okay I tell myself as I face my fate
It's okay because I knew that they would wait.
Goodbye moon and Goodbye stars
Mayhaps I'll see you should we visit mars
