It was a week before the midterms and Gakushu was sure that something was going to happen. He noticed that while a group of the E class students were going home that Starla wasn't with them. Knowing her she was staying back for the extra help-which he knew she needed. He requested the help of the E class which was something he didn't think he'd ever do. But he had to just to expose his father.

The others agreed but Karma who acted cocky saying he'd take the first spot away from him. "And let's make a friendly bet between the two of us. Whoever gets the best scores get's Starla for keeps."

"For keeps?" Gakushu said curiously "What are you saying Akabane?"

"I'm saying right now she's in my care, which means I have rein over what happens with her. It also means that I'm her boyfriend. If you are sincere about liking her I'd place your heart on the line just to get her back." He said before he crossed his arms and looked to Gakushu darkly "Unless you're too much of a coward to get her back from me."

Gakushu chuckled and smirked at Karma. "Alright, I'll take your little bet. Whoever get's the highest ranking will get Starla. No tricks, no cheating."

"Naturally, this has to be a fair fight. Otherwise what fun would that be?" Karma said with a grin

"W-What's going on here?" Starla asked curiously

Both males looked to the brown haired female only for Gakushu to go up to her, he saw the fear in her eyes instantly as he got closer to her. "A-Asano....W-What's with that look in your eyes?"

He cupped her face in his hand before he grinned at her sinister like "After the midterms I will have you back. Just you wait Starla."

She blinked her eyes a few times as she looked confused-but still kept the fear in her eyes. She didn't know what would happen to her. She stepped away from him and sighed as she tried to hold herself back from freaking out. "That's not what I meant weeks ago. You're going to have to try better than that."

"Fine then, how about the two of us study like we used to? Just the two of us?"

She sighed and shook her head. "Not going to happen. I already promised Karma I'd study with him, anyways I didn't think you needed to study with a weak brainless girl like me." She said sadly before she went up to Karma and linked her hand with his.

Gakushu's eyes turned dark as he saw this and glared at the two of them, he knew what he must do just to prove his point to Starla. He balled his hands up as he glared at the two of them hatefully. "This isn't over with."

Karma chuckled before he looked down to Starla. "C'mon let's get home."

She nodded her head and the two of them walked home silently, as they did she couldn't help but sigh out a bit. "Are you sure that riling up Gakushu this much is a good idea? He's not going to be happy with me if he finds out that this is all an act Karma."

"I already told him we were together, it's just better for us to play this out just to pick at his weaknesses." Karma said with a smirk before he pulled her closely to him. "And you just so happen to be a big weakness to him. You saw how he looked at us, it's only a matter of time."

The last few words were whispered to her which made her shiver a bit due to his tone of voice. She was used to it but it still gave her creeps up and down her back. When it came to them getting home her phone went off only to see that it was Gakushu. She answered it as she saw Karma placing his bag down and going to change his clothes.

Gakushu: Starla, I didn't mean to frighten you. I know it might have seem that way bit it's not like that at all. I just want you safely by me again.

Starla: Safe? Tch, you hurt me Gakushu. Unless you can prove to me that you've lost that blood lust side of you I refuse to get anywhere near you got it?!

Gakushu: Study with me, let me show you that I mean only the best

She sighed out and looked to Karma as he got out of his room. "Karma, I need to head out for a bit. I'll be back in ten or so."

"Not gunna happen, if you're going to meet up with that asswipe you're not going alone."

"W-What? Karma I'm just going to tell him off so he stops pestering me." She said confused

Karma pushed her up against the wall and pinned her arms tightly to the wall. "He's not going to get you that quickly, tell me, do you still love that asshole?"

She blinked her eyes a few times. "I...I...No I don't. Please let me go."

"Hehe, not a chance. You're mine. Got that Starla." He said darkly to her as his hold on her wrists got tight

"K-Karma if you keep this up you won't be any better than him!" She whined in pain

His golden eyes widen as he heard her speak, he let her go and backed away as she fell to her knees as she cried. Karma looked to her sadly only for her to grab her bag and bolt out. "Starla wait!" He said before he heard the door shut

He sighed and closed his eyes. "Damn...I blew it. No matter...She'll be back sooner or later. Her things are still here, she'll come back for them and when she does she'll really be mine."

As she ran she called Gakushu, he was quick to answer when he saw it was her. "Star?"

"G-Gakushu...W-Where are you...I...I-I'm really sorry for pissing you off earlier." She said through her sobs

He hated that the brunette female was crying, no doubt it was Akabane's doing-he was seriously going to get it one of these days. He was at a local park waiting for an answer before he went home, when he got the call he instantly began to walk the streets before he saw her. "Stay put, I see you."

She did as he told her as she looked around before she stopped looking when she saw him rush up to her. She held her bag with her right hand as she held her wrist with her left hand. When he got close enough for her she hugged him tightly burying her face against his chest as she began to sob out against him. "I-I'm sorry."

He closed his eyes as he wrapped his arms around her tightly. "It's fine, I know you are in a bad position right now. I'll do whatever I can just to make sure you get back up to where you belong. I promise."

She held on to the back of his shirt tightly as her hands shook. "I-I know you will, I have faith in you. C-Can we get out of the streets please?"

He smiled a little as he looked down to her. "Of course, there's a library not far from here we can go to. C'mon."

She nodded her head before she walked side by side with him as it was quiet between them, as they walked he could tell that her hands were very shaky and she kept a close hold on her wrists. When they got to a corner he made her look at him before he pulled her sleeves up. His violet eyes widen when he saw the finger marks bleeding against her wrists.

"Did that asshole Akabane do this to you?!"

She quietly nodded her head sadly "H-He....He's turning out to be worse than you. I...I don't like it."

"Is this why you were crying?"

She nodded her head again, he sighed and kissed her forehead softly. "This just makes me want to get you out of that hell hole even more. No matter you're going to be tutored by me from now on, from the time you leave school till late at night we'll work on what you are slacking off on until the night before the exams."

She gave him a weak smile. "O-Okay...T-Thank you Gakushu...it really means a lot to me that you're being like this right now." She said nervously before she took out of her bag her first aid kit.

"Have you always had that in your bag?"

"Mhm, cause of the marks you made on me. They'd sometimes cut open on their own, so I have to make sure that I cover them." She said with a nod

She cleaned the wounds before she hissed out, she then wrapped her arms. Afterwards she placed it back in her bag and looked up to him. "What?"
