AU NOTE: Consider this chapter a filler, I found myself with some free time and wanted to contribute a seasonal piece, though it has no Holiday sense to it. Please note that the chapter title here is not the official one for the upcoming chapters of Episode 2!

"So a Bite... Is all it takes?" Isaac inquired, his breath shallow and uneasy. His eyes flitted around the room, startled by every subtle sound.

His query hung in the air, met only by silence that stretched for what felt like more than a minute. No one offered a response. He stood there, a slight tremor coursing through him, his mind a whirlwind of conjectures.

"Not Just a Bite, The Bite." Derek declared, at last, his words resonating with authority to Isaac.

"You wouldn't have to fear your father anymore Issac..." Morwen's gaze narrowed, their voice descending to a gentle whisper. "You wouldn't be picked on, or Bullied."

"I know we couldn't smoke after school the other day... But I promise I'll explain everything... We Just-" Morwen smiled gently, "I need you to Choose."

Isaac's face brightened, a small glimmer of hope appearing. "Who would be the one—"

"I would," Derek interjected, his words Incisive.

Morwen's head snapped back towards Derek, a focused stare locked onto him. "A Word," they sneered, rising to their feet and pulling Derek aside.

"We never—" Morwen reached up, poking his chest with emphasis. "You never clarified which one of us would turn him!"

"Yes, you chose him, but you lack any connection to him, no emotional ties!" Morwen argued.

"Which is precisely why I should be the one," Derek sighed.

"Or," Morwen huffed, pacing briskly back and forth. "What if, hear me out..." They then halted in front of him, placing a palm on his heart. "We both turn him."

Morwen's gaze shifted between Derek's piercing eyes and Isaac's softened ones.

"That might—" Derek started, uncertainty in his voice, before quickly shaking his head.

"No! Morwen, you're a hybrid. A Primordial Lycanthrope, a Lycan, and a Witch. What kind trumps me? We have no idea what kind of reaction—" Derek scowled, softly snarling his upper lip. "It could kill him!"

"It's my choice," Isaac spoke up, hands shakingly clasped together as he approached them both.

"And if it does, then let it be on me. Yes, Derek, you chose me for your pack, but I chose both. I can't live like this anymore."

"From the beatings from my dad... The basement... Assholes at school..." Isaac sniffled, picking at his nailbeds as he revealed the pain that weighed on him.

Derek's countenance softened, a silent understanding passing between them. "Your death wish, kid."

"Derek!" Morwen scowled, delivering a sharp backhand to Derek's shoulder.

At that moment, Morwen's phone emitted a soft 'ping.' The clock displayed 12:55, with only five minutes remaining until midnight. "It's time, Isaac."

Drawing a shaky breath, Isaac nodded and settled into a nearby swiveling chair. Derek then took his flashlight, propping it up to cast an illuminating glow on the confined space enveloping them.
