2016.

The doorbell vibrated throughout the house, and Shenjae rushed to the door.

"Yuna unni!" she smiled her rare smile.

"Shen, my baby," Yuna let out a high-pitched voice and cooed at her with her bright smile.

"Congratulations on your graduation!" Shenjae happily hugged her and saw the familiar, clammy, blushing boy behind her.

"Thank you; I have brought your favourite sour snacks." Yuna hugged the little girl back.

"Soobin is upstairs, unni. I will dish out the snacks," she motioned as they came into the house.

Yuna happily went to climb the staircase and Jung kook handed the snacks to Shenjae, he was about to follow her sister when

"Kid," her monotonously sharp voice made him stop in his tracks.

"y-yes, noona," he stuttered.

"Come here," she motioned her head towards the kitchen.

He gulped and followed her.

"y-yes noona?" He wanted to run away.

"These days," she said, passing him a stare while taking out a plate and opening the packet. "Why is Soobin running around the house like a dramatic high school kid?"

"Huh?" he gulped again.

She finally looked at him.

"Don't act like you don't know anything. In the three years of knowing you, all I got was the shy boy Jung kook who is older than me but calls me noona, but I know there is more to you; you know things that I don't." She stepped toward him.

He kept looking at her feet.

A five-minute silence accompanied them. Shenjae kept staring at his slouched-down form; he was so horribly kewt.

"Forget it," she sighed. "Did you confess to your high school crush?" she teased, knowing he was not comfortable with the topic.

He blushed deeper and shook his head, his hair covering his face as he looked down.

"Oh, is she pretty? I read your diary about her" he widened his eyes and suddenly looked up.

"Don't be so surprised, last time we came over to yours I read some of it before you shut it, sad, isn't it?" she faked a sigh.

She took another step towards him.

Why is she doing this to me? Does she know that she makes me nervous?

He wanted to dig a hole and bury deep down. Deep down.

"Come on, you are in the last year of high school now. Make a move." She stepped closer.

She was right; he should make a move. But how could he tell her it was her and nobody else? All Shenjae cared about was stupid biology, and she never wanted a relationship that could alter her motives. He knew that very well.

He sighed; he could get a lot of girls if he asked them but he had to fall for her.

Before she could take another step, he blurted at full speed.

"NOONA, noona and hyung are planning to get married!" he closed his eyes.

"Huh? Why?" shenjae stopped in her tracks, not being able to digest the big news.

"Because they love each other?" Jung kook whispered.

She knew it; she knew it all too well, but hey, this was new. The shy Jungkook once talked to her more than a sentence; how could she let this go?

"Oh," she said, raising her eyebrows.

"Yeah," he said, hoping she would leave some space for him to breathe, his heart beat going crazy.

"Ooh" she turned; he let out a breath and closed his eyes in relief.

But she immediately turned back. "But Jung kook" her voice had a tilt. He knew this mischievous tilt all too well.

"Yes?" he breathed, looking into her beautifully wide, shiny orbs.

"What do you do when you love people? It's not always marriage, right?" she inquired, curiosity killing her corneas.

Her orbs put him into a trance, a haze and he said what he had in his heart for the first time that day.

It was the day Shenjae realized how beautiful and pure Jung kook was not only from outside but from inside too, he was truly golden.

"I don't know for others but when I love someone, I have this, this fuzzy feeling where I want them to engulf in warmth that I radiate. Maybe, if possible, to warm their hands and hearts, cover their feet and head with every pinch of warmth that I have, even if it makes me go cold."
