*Matthew's POV*

(After encounter with Brielle in the woods)

I need to get this girl out of my head. I don't like what she's doing to me, more precisely to Silas. I vowed long ago to never allow anyone in again, especially not a woman. I need to get back to my territory where things are under control and I'm not feeling all these mixed feelings.

'Aiden, I need you to meet me in Alpha Mason's office and bring the files with you,'

'Will do Alpha, but umm are you sure it's the right time to show him?'

'We don't have time to wait.'

'Okay then. I'll see you in a few.'

I cut off the link as I make my way to my temporary room to change. The whole way there, I'm only thinking about how I'm going to break the news to Alpha Mason. He is the only one I trust to forward what I found out. My blood boils just thinking about what is on those files. Silas growls in agreement as the images runs through our mind. I manage to calm myself as I make my way into the room.

I change out of the basketball shorts from the woods and throw on a pair of jeans with a black t-shirt. I slipped on my shoes and headed out the door to Alpha Mason's office after making sure Aiden has the files ready. Just the mere mention of what is on those files makes Silas pace in anger and he lets out numerous growls.

I get to Alpha Mason's office before Aiden. I guess I'll just go in and prepare him for the news. I knock on his door as what I'm going to say to him runs through my mind. I can't imagine he'll take what I'm going to say lightly.

"Come in," Alpha Mason's voice breaks me out of my thoughts.

I open the door to see Alpha Gray sitting across from Alpha Mason. They both look at me in surprise.

"My apologies Alpha Mason, I wasn't aware you had company. I'll come back later," I state as I make my way back out the door closing it behind me.

"Oh good. I thought I was running late. I have the files ready. Should we go in?" Aiden asks as he walks up to me.

"You were running late, but it doesn't matter. This will have to wait. Alpha Gray is in there with him, so we'll have to come back late."

"Oh, Alpha Gray huh," he says, giving me a mischievous look.

"Shut up and let's go."

"Oh come on Matt. I think everyone can tell you have the hots for her," he insists as he falls in step with me.

I decide to ignore his comments and continue walking down the stairs. Apparently he doesn't pick up on my disinterest as he continues to push on.

"I mean I don't blame you, she is pretty hot. She'd make an amazing mate. I know-"

"Watch your next words Aiden because I will forget you're my beta and best friend," I growled out, Silas surfacing at the thought of Alpha Gray with anyone else.

"I'm sorry Alpha. I didn't know you'd react this way," he declares with his hands up in surrender.

"Whatever," I mutter as I release him and continue down the stairs. Silas calmed down a bit, but I could still feel him seething.

'You need to relax Silas. There is no reason for you to react like this.'

'Yes there is!'

'Oh yeah, and what reason is that?'

'I don't know yet, but I have a gut feeling about this.'
