*Matthew's POV*

We had just gotten past the Eclipse Pack's border patrol when I felt this weird sense of unease. Silas was feeling it too and he was antsy and I have no idea why. Their pack house came into view and I could spot a few SUVs parked outside already, meaning Alpha Grey must already be here. Our SUV came to a slow stop right behind one of hers. I saw a few of her pack members standing in front of the pack house as Miller talked his ass off. I couldn't help my eyes from skimming over the crowd and I can't lie and say they weren't searching for her. Confusion settles in when I don't spot her amongst her pack members.

'She's here, I can sense her,' Silas states as soon as I stepped out of the vehicle.

I spot Blue Moon's former Beta whip his head around before he disappears behind the SUV in front of ours. Everyone stood there in silence and confusion as they looked towards where Max was. I can hear him calling her name but her voice never came in reply. One of her warriors, Stephan I think, went to move behind the vehicle only to come back around almost immediately. I can see him mind linking with the rest of the warriors as they moved to stand around their SUV as if guarding something, or someone.

I could hear harsh breathing from behind the SUV. It could be coming from Max, but something tells me it's her. My curiosity won over and my feet began to move on their own accord as I made my way around the vehicle. All other sounds were blocked as I could only here her short pants and the gravel crunching under my feet. I was prepared to help her in any way I can, but was surprised to see she was fine. She was just standing there with her back to me, in no danger at all. As if sensing me, she turns around, my eyes instantly connecting to her hazel ones. I tried to form words into sentences but my mind wasn't cooperating and I just stood there like a fool. She cleared her throat before turning back to face Max as his eyes glazed over. I didn't need to look at her to know hers were glazed over too as they mind linked. They both walked back around the vehicle to meet everyone else, ignoring me.

'Did we just imagine her unease?' I ask Silas.

'I don't think so. I'm sure she was the one gasping for air. I don't know how, but I could feel her distress.'

'She looked fine though. I wonder what happened.'

'Well I don't think she'll tell you anytime soon as she just ignored the hell out you,' he taunts.

'First of all, she ignored us both as you're a part of me. Secondly, I can try asking one of her pack members and see what I can figure out,' I propose.

'Considering she hasn't met me, you are the one she can't stand,' he retorts. 'And good luck trying to get anything out of them. They are really loyal to her.'

'I'll figure something out,' I mutter, ignoring his earlier snide as I make my way to join the others.

"It's about time! What the hell was going on?!" Aaron cries out.

"I apologize. There was something I needed to handle. We can move on now," comes Alpha Grey's vague response.

"It's ok Mate. For you, we can wait all you want," he smirks, making my blood boil.

Two of her pack members let out low growls, but stop at soon as she commands it. I notice his beta jump out of fright at the growls. He calmed down before lowering his head, shaking it slightly, being used to Miller's antics.

"Can we get a move on it, Miller?" I call out, anger seeping into my tone.

Aaron shoots me an annoyed look, but agrees none the less. He turned around and began to walk into the packhouse without another word. His Beta shyly gestured for us to follow him as he lead us to our temporary rooms for the next few weeks. I reeled in my aura once I noticed Beta Parker kept stammering and flinching whenever I would go near him. I'm an ass, but I do pity the guy as he has to deal with Miller on the daily. I could tell Alpha Grey was thinking the same thing as I couldn't feel her aura as strongly. Once Beta Parker showed us our rooms, he let us know to meet up at the conference room at 3pm before he departed.
