heyo! welcome to another album ranking!! today i'm going to be ranking evermore, aka a masterpiece. i love evermore sooo much and i hope you do too (though i still think folklore is better). here's my theory with folklore and evermore:
first of all, to all the people who say that the songs sound the same in both albums....are you OK?? maybe you're confusing them because of the amazing songwriting and vocals in both. anyway, in my opinion folklore has a greater quantity of good songs, but the songs in evermore are either JAW DROPPING GORGEOUS or kinda "meh". it's like a quality v quantity situation- with folklore you get all great songs with a handful of amazing ones and with evermore you get some amazing ones but also a bunch of skip songs. that's just my perspective on the whole folklore v evermore thing! (folklore >>>>>>> evermore tho imo)
anyways, let's get into it!

k, since this is a short(er) album and i'm not feeling lazy i'll explain each song ranking!
1. tolerate it
i guess this song is too sad to be my #1 favorite, but i love it too much for it to be anything less. oh my gosh, i cry when i listen to it. i think the line that breaks me is "now i'm begging for footnotes in the story of your life" and from then on i'm dead. suchhhh an amazing song and the way she performed it at the eras tour had me and my friend literally in tears 😭
2. right where you left me
i really love this song and honestly don't even know if i can explain why. i just love it-
3. champagne problems
don't come for me...i think this song is definitely a little overrated so it's not going any higher than 3, but WOW i love it so much. the bridggggeeeeee AUGHGHHH
4. long story short
this song is so freaking nostalgic and i don't even know why, it just makes me feel like...i'm dead somehow? like i don't feel human when i listen to it?! that's probably...really weird, but um yea
5. marjorie
gosh darn, this song is sad. the whole reason i began to love it is 10000000% because of the eras tour movie. it was magical with all the lights and the crowd actually shutting up so we could hear taylor sing! such a sentimental moment in the show and one of my faves.
6. gold rush
i love this song because it's so freakin relatable! i totally relate to what she's saying, about the concept of perfection and i love how she portrays jealousy through the lyrics.
7. ivy
"your touch brought forth an incandescent glow", "i'd meet you where the spirit meets the bones", "stop you putting roots in my dreamland". this whole song is so majestically poetic and i love her voice in it too!
8. evermore
MMMMMMMMMMMM the bridge with that bon guy is BOOTIFUL. though i do still think this song is a wannabe exile, i love it so much. i just want to curl up with a cup of tea and sit around the fire reading a cozy book every time i listen to it!
ok, so i decided i'm going to stop there because those are like the songs i LOVE. anyways hope u enjoyed this ranking and the folklore one will be coming out very soon!!!! 🍂
P.S. 1989 TV is so good! here are my thoughts on it:
- i like the old new romantics better (sorry)
- the vault tracks say don't go and now that we don't talk are two of the best vault tracks she's ever made. i love them SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO unbelievably much
