Her and Him have been close friends for many years. While they were never anything more outwardly, each has quiet longing for the other that even they don't understand. One night, after He went to Her because He was upset, She takes him for a drive around the rural town. Here, in an overwhelming, emotional state, He admits he sometimes thinks about Her in a more romantic way.
The couple can start here, with Him professing, or from him arriving at her place, and then build on the situation from there. This plot is also pretty open as far as progression goes.
