Kazuki was running down the streets of Floln City.

"STOP THAT KID!" Several men yelled as they chased after Kazuki.

Kazuki bumped into people and pushed others who were in his way. He needed the two pieces of bread that he stole for himself and his family. They don't eat much, so Kazuki has to resort to stealing. He stopped after he ran into an alleyway that happened to be a dead end. He looked at his surroundings, hoping that there was something that would help him out of there.

"Stop right there you street rat." The biggest man said.

He walked into the alleyways with the other two men behind him. "Hand over that bread. It doesn't belong to you."

"My sincerest apologies people, but it's 2 o'clock, and I need to be home. I would really like to give this bread back, but my mom said I had to be back by 1:30, and I'm already 30 minutes late. I don't want to be grounded. Until next time though!" Kazuki chuckled.

Kazuki put the bread into a string bag he had. He ran up to a ladder that was left in there after some construction and started to climb it. Luckily, Kazuki was very good at climbing. The three men ran to the ladder and started climbing it. Kazuki climbed to the top of the ladder. He looked down at the scary men that were chasing him. Kazuki grabbed onto a nearby pipe that ran up to the roof of the building. He kicked the ladder, and it started to wobble. Then it fell. It collapsed, bringing the three men with it. Kazuki climbed up onto the roof and started jumping from building to building. After a while of jumping, he finally reached his apartment. He opened the door that was on the roof and went down the stairs. He made his way into his apartment and opened the door.

"Mom? Dad? I'm home." Kazuki said.

He walked in and made his way into the kitchen.

"I have enough bread for us three. It should last about 2 weeks if we split it properly."

Kazuki's father walked into the kitchen and ruffled his hair.

"Good job kid. I'm proud of you. I'm sorry that you have to go out there and get food for us. It's supposed to be the man of the house's job to do that, but this sickness is killing me." He coughed a couple of times.

"Don't worry Dad. I understand. I'll do anything for you two. Anyway, I'm gonna go take a nap. I'm pretty tired." Kazuki smiled at his father.

"Alright. Sleep well." His dad said.

Kazuki walked into his room and laid down on the cardboard in the middle of his room. He grabbed his hand-knitted blanket and wrapped himself with it. His room was filled up with enough light coming from the big broken window he had. It was a bright and sunny day, the only downside is that he had trouble sleeping in lighted up areas.

Kazuki woke up to the sound of a gunshot which was followed by screaming. He hated that sound. In Floln city, gunshots were common. No police, means no rules. This city was known for being the most run-down part of Japan. It's full of poor people. Although, 20% of the people that live in Floln City are actually rich. They strive off making fun of poor people. They open up shops around the poor apartments. They taunt the people who are too poor to afford food for their own families.

Kazuki stood up and walked into the kitchen. His mom was listening to the radio that Kazuki stole the other day. Luckily, it only ran on batteries. Kazuki listened to the person talking on the radio.

"Yes, but if Sugai wins the election then all of the poor people can finally leave our city. Our city can go back to what it used to be." One voice said.

"If I may interject, those people are poor because most of them can't get a job. They can't get a job since all the stores nearby are owned by rich people. The rich people won't let any of the poor people get jobs, because they're frowned upon. We need to let them have a chance. They need jobs, and they need food to feed their families. Our hospitals won't take care of the poor people because they have no money. Don't you think the hospitals would make more money if the poor people had money? The poor people would get money if Sugai wins. Sugai would open stores that could hire poor people. He'd tax the rich people more so we can give money to the poor." Another voice said.

"Ok ok, then answer this. Why didn't the poor people have any money in the first place?"

"Well... Uh... I... The rich people stole from them."

"Do you have any proof?"

"Not yet, but I will! I promise you that. I will find the evidence, and Sugai will win that election."

"Mom please turn that off," Kazuki said. "I'm tired of hearing Saki say stuff like that. People like us have no chance."

"Saki can help us. He's smart enough to help us Kazu. We just need to believe in him." Kazuki's mom said.

"Saki has money, mother. We don't. Who is he helping? He takes us into his home so we can become part of the rich people, but instead, he's wasting his time on helping all the poor people get money. Sugai won't win that election. Especially since only 40% of the poor people can vote. All the rich people have to do is pay that 40% to vote for Sugai. Stop wasting your time on Saki's bull crap." Kazuki grabbed the radio and ook the batteries out. "I'm going back into the dark. Gotta find some more supplies for us."

He put the batteries into his flashlight and walked to the frunt door.

"Love you, mom."

"Love you too Kazu. Be careful."

"Mom. I'm always careful." Kazuki grabbed his bag and headed out.
