"My name is Oliver Queen, for five years I was stranded on an island with one goal; SURVIVE. I have returned not the boy that was shipwrecked, but a man destined to bring justice to my city." Was the thing he silently said as he hopped on to the boat that had come to save him, when he lit up the sticks he had built to set alight if the need arose for him to be able to get off that hellish island. Felicity he thought of her every day for five years, the tears always pooled when he was alone. He loved her so, so much he wanted to get back to her, and only her.
For five years, every birthday every little thing that happened with Felicity and her son, their son hurt. Moira had been there for her, and her grandson, the first year of Joshua's life was hard, Oliver never knew she was pregnant. She found out just after he got on the Queen's Gambit. Moira watched her self destruct. When the baby was born, Felicity moved in with the Queen family, though she'd been there almost always every night with Oliver, it was more permanent, now. Joshua cried through the night, but nearly no one could calm him down, until Tommy held him. It was like Joshua had wanted his dad. Five years past and he was four, he looked like Oliver now, so much so it was painful sometimes for Felicity to look at him. But she loved the boy with all her heart. Barry Allen had been a great friend, and helper, though he had kissed her once and earned himself a bruised face after she slapped him really hard. Reminding him that Oliver was dead and that he was her love.
Felicity was feeding Joshua as Moira received a call, she gasped and dropped the phone. Felicity looked up, "Moira?" She asked, as Joshua clapped. "Can I play with my toys Momma?" He asked. Felicity nodded. "It's... Its Oliver." She panted, in shock. He was alive. Felicity looked up, the pain stabbing her chest. "They found a body?" She rasped. Her hands gripping the food bowl she had of Joshua's fruit loops. "He's alive. He's at Starling Hospital as we speak." She whispered. Felicity gasped. "Alive?" Moira nodded, "Stay here. I will go get him. I will tell him about you and Joshua."
Oliver stood in the hospital ward, everything seemed so unfamiliar, he looked over at all the city it felt strange, foreign. For five years he wasn't near much cities to be able to return back home. The doctor stood outside watching, "Mrs Queen. His body is covered in scars, he has burns and bones that haven't healed properly. I want you to prepare yourself, the Oliver you once knew may not be the Oliver that has returned home." She nodded, "Thank you, can I take him home soon?" He nodded, "He's free to go, just make sure he has rest and a lot of food." She nodded. She opened the door. "Oliver?" He turned around, "Mom." He half smiled and they hugged. He looked at her, "Can we go home?"
Moira looked at him, "Oliver. Felicity is living with us. She hadn't coped with you're... death." She frowned, "And that's not all." He looked up, his eyes worried at the thought Felicity the strong IT girl he was still in love with. "Mom?" He breathed hard. His eyes shut. "She was pregnant. You have a four year old son, named Joshua. His fifth birthday is in two weeks." He opened his eyes and his whole body felt weak.
"I'm not good for him, I'm not the man she fell in love with." He commented, "I'm not the same." He whispered. He took the clothes and took of his shirt, revealing his scars to his mother. "See?" He questioned her. "How can I be that man she loves?" He couldn't wrap his head around the child part, it scared him. He was rarely scared, forged into a weapon. "I look in the mirror. I can't see Oliver Queen." He spoke, he looked down at her tracing her fingers on her body she pulled away. "Just get dressed Ollie, she will love you for you." He obeyed.
Oliver was nervous as he was driven up towards the mansion, where Thea was, and now Felicity. He pulled out the tattered photo of her he had since the boat. Moira looked at him, "She still loves you." She touched his knee and he put the photo back in his pocket as the car halted. Who would he see first? He entered to be greeted by Walter Steele? He narrowed his eyes, his eyes moved around to Raisa. "Nice to see you again." He smiled, and then looked up and saw Thea. He moved to her. "Hey sis."
"Ollie!" She smiled and ran down the stairs, "I knew you were alive, I knew it!" She hugged him and he held her close. "You were always on my mind." he pulled back and looked around, "She's in your room, with Josh." Spoke Thea. "She's nervous. She is scared, because she's been dreaming that you'd return to her." Spoke Thea. He nodded. "I'll be down soon." He furrowed his brow. Thea watched, "What happened to him?" She asked Moira when he disappeared up the stairs. "A lot. His body, is scarred Thea, he's hurt. He said to me, he doesn't feel like Oliver Queen anymore." She frowned. Thea was scared.
Oliver walked down the hall slowly, hearing a boy's laughter, how could he ruin that? Their child's laugh? He wasn't that man anymore. Maybe because he hadn't seen Felicity in so long. He stopped at the closed door, and slowly opened it. The boy looked, "Mommy! There's a man in your room!" He got on the bed and smiled at him, though confusion ran through Josh when he stared at the man. He looked like him, just way younger. "You look like me." Spoke Josh. As Felicity came out of the closet and Oliver's head snapped straight to her in reflex of what went on in the island, and out of nowhere they both moved toward each other, "Felicity!" He whimpered, his resolve breaking and she cried. "Oliver." They hugged each other. He held her so close. "You were with me the whole time, the WHOLE time." He pleaded with her, "You're everything to me." He whispered. They looked at each other and kissed. He kissed her deeper. Josh laughed. Oliver pulled back and looked at him, "I..." He whispered. Felicity nodded, "I don't know what experiences you went through Oliver, but I'm not going to push you into being his father." She whispered her hands gripping him. Moira entered, "Josh come on down with me, I've got caramel ice cream with sherbert." Oliver almost laughed, that was his favourite.
Josh disappeared and Oliver resumed to kissing Felicity, his heart ached. "I am sorry." He whispered. "I shouldn't have gotten on that boat. When I got to that island, for what seemed like days you were all I thought about, for those five years away." He whispered. "I just don't want to talk about it right now." He looked at her, a crash in the hall had him grabbing something sharp and turning towards the door with his arm raised and his eyes wide. He was scared. Felicity gasped, a lot must have happened Oliver was never quick on his feet like he was now. She looked at him, "Oliver?" He closed his eyes putting down the pencil. "I'm sorry. I'm not myself." He whispered. "Oliver, you've been away from civilisation for five years, I do not expect you to be the same."
Oliver pulled her towards the bed and laid on his back, "Can you just snuggle me for a little while? I just need you to hold me." He looked up at the ceiling as she curled up to him. What had he gone through?
