In an apartment complex on Staten Island...

"The parts for the AC will arrive in less than a couple of days, Mrs. Glenwood." Mika addresses the short elderly lady in her apartment doorway as she flips her long braid back and fixes the sleeves of her yellow flannel.

"Until then, you can set up a fan wherever you need, and you can always ask to borrow mine."

"Oh, Mika, you're such a sweetheart! I'll buzz you if I need anything. Thanks again!"

"I'll see you later, Mrs. Glenwood!"

Then Mrs. Glenwood waves goodbye as she closes her door, and Mika starts to walk a few doors down to her apartment. Mika takes out her apartment key and was about to pass by the elevator, when she bumps into a moving stack of boxes coming out of its doors. The boxes start to topple, and Mika quickly reacts by repocketing her keys and catching the falling boxes.

"Whoa! I got it." Mika assures the box carrier as she takes care to put the boxes onto the floor.

"...Thanks." Came a breathless, high-pitched male voice as he followed Mika's lead, placing the rest of the boxes on the floor.

"Ah, no problem! That's why I help out...here." Mika's words trail off as she and the guy stand up, getting a good look at each other. Her eyes widen as she recognizes him.

"Zach?! Zachery?" Mika exclaims in surprise with a growing smile.

"Uh?!? Mika?" Zach's own eyes widen up at her. "You...live here?"

"Yeah, I do." Mika takes a step back to look him over up-and-down. "Wha-what are you doing here? Are...you moving into an apartment here?"

Zach takes a breath and crosses his arms. "Well, I'm temporarily moving here to get a...change of scenery, just as my mother suggested I do."

He reluctantly averts his eyes when Mika starts to lean slightly forward towards him with a hand on her hip. Then his eyes meet hers, Zach relaxes and uncrosses his arms.

"Sooo, sort of a vacation then?" She starts to lower her voice to a hushed tone. "Temporarily moving into an apartment isn't exactly what most think of as a vacation."

"I guess you can say I do...?" Zach's eyes flashes a quick reflection of a hallway light as they move along the hallway catching Mika's attention. "Like I said, for a change of scenery."

"Well, whatever reason you're here, let me help you out."

With that, Mika picks up the same boxes that she had rescued earlier. "What's your vacation apartment number?"

"Th-Thanks. It's 814."

"Ah, you got one of the two bedroom apartments at the end of the floor. They are real nice and spacious." Mika leads down the hallway leading the way for Zach.
