Chapter 2: The Accused Scribe
Lena's laughter had turned into a scream, the world around her spinning into chaos as her car careened off the road. In the maelstrom of the accident, her soul was ripped from her body, leaving her in a bewildered, ethereal state.
It was a world unlike any she had ever known. She stood amidst a surreal landscape, surrounded by inter-dimensional police officers. They wore uniforms that seemed more like armored suits, and their faces were obscured by faceless, metallic masks. They were led by a stern figure, Captain Zara, who radiated an air of authority that left no room for questions.
"Author Lena Cartwright," Captain Zara declared, her voice echoing through the strange realm, "you are under arrest for the crime of Dimensional Discordance and Soul Disruption. You have caused chaos in countless realms with your reckless and sadistic storytelling, jeopardizing the stability of entire dimensions."
Lena blinked, her cynical facade momentarily faltering. "You've got to be kidding me," she retorted. "It's just fiction. My readers know it's all in good fun."
One of the officers, a robotic being, replied, "Your actions have had real consequences, affecting the very fabric of the multiverse."
Lena's characteristic smirk returned. "Well, isn't this a plot twist? Arrested by the inter-dimensional police for my writing? I should include this in my next novel."
Captain Zara's metallic mask showed no emotion. "Your mockery will not save you, Author Cartwright. You will be brought before the Council of Judges, and they will determine your fate. Your trial is in three days."
Lena's sarcastic chuckle echoed in the surreal space. "A trial? In the land of my own creations? This just keeps getting better and better."
As the inter-dimensional police escorted Lena away, she couldn't help but wonder how her story had taken such a bizarre and unexpected turn. But, true to her character, she masked her anxiety with a devil-may-care attitude. In a realm where the laws were beyond her imagination, she was about to embark on her most challenging narrative yet.
