Chapter 9: Is this love?

Vendora ditches out of school during lunch break-- without anyone knowing. She knows she isn't meant to be there anymore. She visits the woods, just to cool off, just to feel the happiness of nature.

She finds the same wolf from last night crawling up to her. She glares at the clouds, the trees and rivers. She smiles deeply while the wolf cuddles up to her.

She feels a small bare hand on her back for a few seconds, she touches her back but doesn't feel one physical hand. She's assuming it's just the wind.

"I want to stay here, but at the same time I don't. I just can't bare the pain of sensing fear from the people I love. But I can't stay here sensing evil from such a devilish man, who tries to woe me of love." Her eyes waters, but a single tear can't drip from her bare face.

The wolf feels bad for her and licks her face, trying to cheer her up.

Vendora has a slight smile, this wolf is just her new best friend. She glances at the sky, thinking about all her frustrations.

"If you love me, so much, why would sink your fangs into my neck, fake your love with me, why would my friends be scared of me, not earning my trust?" She screams and throws a rock at the river.

"I do love you" A random voice in Vendora's mind pops up

"You're a vampire for a reason, you keep coming here for relaxation. Don't you know you're meant to be with nature. Why do you hate me so much? I given you my apologies dear, please forgive me."

Vendora stands in shock for a moment, her eyes still, every time Jawin talks to Vendora his words woes her, but she doesn't want to fall in love with somebody who's just evil.

"Stop acting like you're innocent, that day you bit me, the way you talk right at that moment isn't the same. You're causing another nightmare right?"

"And that isn't true" As he said teleporting to different places around Vendora on each word

"Stop your teleportation crap! Why can't I just have peace in the woods without your little a-"

Jawin puts his first finger on her full lips "Naughty mouth, have I not gave you a warning"

Vendora accidentally blushes for a few seconds, then frowns "You're not my dad!" She takes his slender finger off her lips and pushes him.

He giggles at her, because he finds it cute, instead of fighting back he gives her a big hug. Then she finally stops her physical abuse to him. Then cries into his chest.

"I hate you" She said.

Then he kisses her top head.

"Don't you know I care about you? Does my hug feel fake or not?".

She cries out louder, "Stop it!"

Then she lets go, she starts to feel a bit more attraction to him. Jawin proudly tells her that he can sense her love for him in her eyes, she immediately denies.

"I don't want to fall in love, the pain in my heart still remains, love is like a 'rose'. A rose may seem beautiful but it will cut you with its thorns. That's an example of love"

"You're right, but only if you're careful with it, only if you slowly touch it. And if you take good care of the rose, then its redness will still remain. If you never take care of anybody, there will be no love, all the love will die out. I'm trying to show my care for you, but you don't care about it. That's why there's no sparks between us yet." He said in a dramatic voice.

"Then what happens when the rose dies after being taken good care of?" She asks

"Its spirit will remain with happiness" He smiles friendly

Her iris widens as she's talking with Jawin, she feels his love more. Even though she hates it. She wants to escape from his presence, because she's falling in love with him, his words just charms her. She tries to flee, but every side she goes he teleports in front of her, trying to block her directions.

"I'm not ready to see you go yet. I want to talk to you" Jawin said.

He snatches her arm, telling her to come along with him. He drifts off to a River with her, with the name Fantas river.

"Why bring me upon here?" She said in a puzzled voice.

He explains to her, "To see within the secrets of nature"

He places his finger at a magical tail

She gets closer to the river, "What is that?"

Jawin pulls her back

"What do you think it is hmmm?" He tells her

She examines another enchanting tail, flapping up and down into the rivers, it then turns around looking directly at Vendora and quickly sinks into the water.

"So it's a mermaid? I have always known they are real. But why the vanishing part? Did I scare her?"

"Most of the mermaids don't trust humans or creatures who looks like humans. They have a long chain of bad history. Mermaids have been used to seeing humans, but when humans use to see them, they'd capture them -- because of how fascinating and spooky they look. Not all humans but a greatful amount. That's why mermaids try their best to hide deep within the waters." He explains to her.

"I'm starving" Her mouth waters.

Jawin says they can go hunting or drink from the blood of the wolf next to her. Vendora hisses at him, she doesn't want to do that. That wolf means a lot to her, but not to Jawin he doesn't give one care about it. Vendora doesn't want to kill an animal, she loves animals.
