ch.2:The downfall

"Big brother Hali, why are you crying?"Little Taufan asked as he held his brother's sleeve.

Halilintar turned to his younger brother, he wanted to say something, but decided to wipe his tears first before patting his brother's head.

"We won't be able to see mom and dad again.."He explained gently while trying his best to hold back his tears.

"Why not?"little Blaze asked while tilting his head to the side.

"Because they are in a different place"Halilintar tried to explain.

"Other pwace??"Little Thorn asked in confusion.

Before Halilintar could even reply, a middle aged woman with black hair and a pair of piercing brown eyes came.

"That's enough now, we're going home."She said with a fake sweet tone.

"But-"She cut Halilintar off by pulling him gently to the car while the other followed, but her grip was so tight that it left a red mark.

"Where are we going..?"Little Gempa asked, wondering where she was taking them to.

"Home. Your new home."She replied and the rest of the car ride was complete silence.

It was already late so all of them were tired and wanted to sleep, however..

"This is our room?"Little Solar asked with confusion.

"Obviously."She rolled her eyes in annoyance.

"But aunty, there is no bed.."Halilintar stated.

Instead of answering him, she slapped him across the face, marking his cheek red as he froze, processing what had just happen.

"Talking back huh? I knew that my sister wasn't capable of raising kids!"She yelled with hatred in her voice.

"Hali!"His siblings immediately surrounded him, checking his swollen cheek.

"Why you do that!?"Little Blaze asked in anger as he stood in front of Halilintar, covering him from their aunt.

She glared at him. "For talking back"She said icily. "Now go to sleep. If I come back and your still not asleep then you will get punished!"

On her way out she slammed the door shut, leaving them alone in that cold and dark room, with no furniture nor much space to move.

"Is big bwother Hali okay?"Little Thorn asked with concern.

"Yes, I'm okay.."He replied as his injury dissappeared thanks to Thorn's power.

"Aunty is evil!"Blaze huffed.

Halilintar sighed as he saw how unhappy his siblings were and patted all of them.

"It's late, let's go to sleep."He said as gentle as he possibly could.

"But there no beds.."little Ice mumbled.

"There is a blanket, we could sleep on it and cuddle to warm ourselves"Halilintar suggested.

They agreed and did exactly what their elder brother said.

"So uncomfortable.."Halilintar thought to himself as he felt his siblings hugging him.

"Mm.."Blaze shivered, not getting enough heat.

Without hesitation Halilintar took off his jacket and covered Blaze with it, knowing very well how sensitive his brother is to coldness.

He stopped shivering and held onto Halilintar's hand while his other hand hugged Ice.

A soft smile appeared on Halilintar's face before he fell asleep.

"Um..aunty?"Halilintar called.

"What?"She asked with annoyence in her voice.

"Isn't it too little food..?"He stated as he held the four piece of breads in his hands.

"You should be grateful that we even took you in after they died! Do you know how expensive it is to raise kids!?"A grumphy man yelled in his face while his aunt nodded in agreement.

"Yes uncle.."He replied quietly and went back to his siblings.

"Good morning big bwother Hali."Little Gempa said.

"Good morning"He patted his head and shared the bread equally to them.

Just as he was about to eat his part of the bread, he noticed how Ice was holding his stomach.

"Here"Halilintar handed him the bread.

"What about you?"Little Ice asked despite feeling hungry.

"I already eaten before, you can have it."

Little Ice smiled and happily took the bread, not knowing that Halilintar had lied to him.

"Hali"little Taufan said as he gently pulled on his brother's shirt.

"Hm?"Halilintar turned around and was surprised when Taufan shoved a piece of bread into his mouth.

"I'm full, Hali can have it!"Taufan said while giggling.

"I see.."He smiled and patted his head. "Thank you."

And so, their life turned upside down. The loving parents that they once had were gone and are replaced by a couple that are everything but nice. It couldn't be anymore worse for them, could it?

"Um.."Little Thorn mumbled.

"What is it now!?"Their aunt raised her voice.

He was too scared to speak, so Halilintar spoke instead before Solar could even reply. He was worried that their aunt might lash out on them.

"I think we went to the wrong school.."Halilintar carefully spoke. "This isn't our school.."

"It is now. Now get out of my car!"Their uncle said in annoyance.

"And remember"She glared at them, "behave."

They got out of the car and were brought to the principal's office by the couple.

"Welcome! You must be the new students."The principal said with a friendly smile on his face.

None of them said a word, so their aunt pinched Halilintar's arm from behind, keeping it hidden yet showed a clear threat to him.

"Y-yes we are."Halilintar quickly spoked, quite surprised by his aunt.

The principal chuckled and got on their eye level. "No need to be afraid, no one will hurt you and we always make sure that every single one of our student is happy and provided with everything that they need."

Halilintar nodded, keeping the act and speaking for his siblings so that they wouldn't be punished by their aunt and uncle for saying something wrong.

As if his siblings understood what their elder brother were doing, they stayed quiet and cling to him, hoping that everything will be fine.

Hoping that everything will be back to the way it used to be.
